Its not steel there's weights inside the buffer that are attractng your magnet. Push the pin on the rubber stopper end of the buffer to ever adjust ur weight. Simple and cheap old trick works well. Shake it hard and if it makes noise u can insert tape or paper to quiet ur action.
I don't know about this junk but I know Rock River Arms has a really nice A2 buttstock it is not Hollow and has the dense foam in it. good sturdy but stock. I'm not quite sure but since you probably have built one AR in your life if that, you really need the Polish up your videos and at least make it sound like you know what you're talkin about and if you're going to do an unboxing video call it that. and please in the future unbox quality items not junk.
this is a joke of a video Don't Waste Your Time basically an unboxing of a shity A2 buttstock made by a shity manufacturer. You bought the utg buttstock because it was fucking cheap and for no other reason. BTW, thanks for pointing out the various parts of an A2 buttstock. I'm glad you were able to find and identify the buffer and say,"see"…LMFAO
I know this video is 4 years old, but, I stumbled upon it bout a month ago for a cheap lower build I was doing…turns out, for the money, it's a okay stock if you're on a budget…I will say this…it is not mil spec dimensions…the trap door is much larger than a normal trap door….the butt plate is much larger than an A2 butt plate, and the sling swivel and stud are not typical Mil Spec parts…they appear painted and not phosphate…again, on a budget, this will get you up and running, and the stock is a very deep black color, that matches the black anodizing of most lowers/uppers nicely…most are a dark grey color and look off compared to this one…
UTG stocks are trash. Windham Weaponry(formerly Bushmaster), Colt, and Armalite are the only place to get A2 stocks. Pay the extra $20 and get quality parts. The buffer has weights with some type of rubber in between them. When you shake them you can feel and hear the weights moving. I am not sure if the weights are steel or tungsten.
CORRECTION…. A-1stock was the original stock for the rifle/ it was shorter, hence, the screwed on extension used with A-2 stock.. the A-1 was also of inferior material.. So if you just need a little less length of pull- pick up a early A-1 stock… Otherwise video was very informative.
I found this vid helpful. I just purchased the same stock assy., along with a "blem" classic A2 rifle handguard set form midway and I appreciate being able to see what I will be getting. Now, if PSA will just get their CHF A2 pinned 20" barrel back in stock, then I can order that and get on with my build. Thanks for the vid.

Likely the magnet was attracted to the steel weight inside the buffer tube.

Running out of patience trying to find a complete colt, may just give this a try.

How did you just pull your tube out like that
Don't waste your time on this video. It is of little help.
my buffer tube wont come out of the stock. its worthless.
TGS here. Also known as TechGunSportsLo……Oh wait…Wrong Channel……
I've heard that this stock feels cheap. Is this true?
you assembled nothing in this video. change the title
that buffer is al but it has some other metals inside
the only negative about the stock kit i've found is the spring. I had to replace it around 1800 rounds.
yellow. looks like a real dense foam material. you can't compress it at all.
