Don’t want to stake your castle nut? This is exactly the solution you need. It’s a castle nut that rachets down onto the end plate. Brilliant!

Never had one back off either. I always use anti sieze too and never had a problem lol. Torque it down enough for the threads to stretch a bit and its not going anywhere.
@ :55…..uuummmm, you mean get that PISTOL in the vise.
I actually have had a castle nut back off, lost the spring and the detent wasn't a big deal just had to replace them, at least the takedown pin didn't walk.
I have 4 AR's, well 3 that have a castle nut, one has an A1 stock, and I have never had one back off. One of them I've owned since 2004, so it's not like I haven't shot them enough to know whether they back off or not.
How are you supposed to take it off
That's pretty cool! Never had an issue with one backing out either.
Just had one back off on me today and I didn’t notice it fast enough. Buffer was little loose and the detente snapped when the rifle was cycling. Seized up and now I’ve got a chipped buffer end I have sand down and replace the detente. That will teach me to trust anything from the factory without securing everything.
my neighbor has this item and he said it works great on his rifle
I love PWS!
What castle nut wrench is that? Where can it be purchased? Thanks
low shear loctite 222, removable with the use of a heat gun. also great for other small screws no heat needed.
schweeet! ive never understood why a similiar system wasnt designed from the start.
no
purple or blue locktite has always been my go to for securing the castle nut
If you've never had a problem with it, why are you trying to fix it?
Your video was awesome until the porno music came on I don't know why so many people have to put Lame music on their YouTube videos and ruin them
sorry not trying to be an ass just being honest
It’s got nothing to do with CA laws (as fucken stupid as we know they are). It allows you to remove and reinstall your buffer tube whenever a new stock innovation comes along without coping with intentionally boogered (staked) threads.
But it MUST. be done right! The ratchet pin has to engage and lock your castle nut! If you can’t make it do that, it’s not going to work.
Properly installed, you have the option of continually changing whatever stock or tube design comes along that outclasses what you currently have. And you’re not unthreading against those threads you chose to damage by staking!.
I got that too
My castle nut came loose, cuz i held it in my hands and used my knees to hold it snug… didnt have a fancy rifle vice…im sure most people who tighten it in a vice dont have them back off.. but most people like me doin the ghetto way do have them back off..lol i like this new enhanced castle nut.. think i might get one.
Mine backed out today actually. I felt betrayed.
I just had my castle nut back off the other day and i was wondering wtf? Lower was complete when i bought it and i hadn't touched the damn nut. This may be a good option for me.
Sold! Great video thanks
Link in the description doesn't work. I need to find this and bookmark it for my next build for sure!!
I highly doubt that under any normal situation a non staked castle nut would back off unless you didnt tighten it enough to begin with. I would prefer to have a regular castle nut though at least before i see one of these taken off. Because i like the ability to take the whole tube off easily.
Just curious. ..
What's the name of the song you used?
