I have the eotech 512 does the same thing sent them a email and they told me that due to it's age they could not fix it
Did you have to show them proof of purchase
Had the same issue. EOTech said it was an original but they wouldn't fix it because they no longer supported the model I had. I also have a few Red dot type sites including Aimpoints, all of which are older than the EOTech and have seen more years of abused, but they all still work. I will never buy another EOTech.
I sent in one of my eotech optics about two years ago and got a refund for my 512 model but my exps3 I decided to keep with the magnifier and recently had this issue with it. I sent in my unit to them and once shipping was received I called to confirm that they had it. I was told that it should be 1-3 months so I will post when I receive mine back…..
With respect sir. They repaired it free because L3 is being sued into the ground for this issue. It's called a nitrogen leak and the SOCOM tests revealed that they all leak nitrogen from the factory within 1 years or less. Once the leak starts then your optic is counting down to dim, and worse (water resistance is gone at this point) I would highly urge you to either take advantage of their buyback program or sell this optic immediately with a disclaimer about the lawsuit.
thanks bud
when they sent it back did they send you a email with shipping info and how did you know when they received it
I'm having the same problem with an EOTech 517.A65 (basically a 512 with the buttons on the side) purchased exactly 3 years ago. It originally had 20 brightness settings. Now it has 10, and the reticle is barely visible on a sunny day on the brightest setting. The warranty was 2 years, and EOTech has agreed to repair it at no charge. I received an RMA# today and will ship it back tomorrow. Hopefully my experience will be the same as yours.
Too bad Eotech screwed us all with their products that have so many issues. I have had 3 Eotechs and they each had issues. They say they are offering refunds on all Eotechs well I wouldn't be surprised if they go back on their word on that either. Eotech nothing but issues.
I also agree that these sights are great for ARs, but don't work well on HK guns. Have you made video of your UMP?
What a great company and great customer service. I love my XPS2 and this video makes me want to go buy a 512.
