You might want to annotate this video, you can not shoulder your AR pistol, any reference should be to insure everyone that this is a cheek rest and has nothing to do with shouldering. I mentioned this to ALAN Thordson and indicated that this video was made before the ruling changed

this goes to show how silly the NFA is. You can use a modified buffer to shoulder the pistol, but add a stock to it and OH MY GOD!!! you've violated a law and now considered a criminal.

Old letter no good as of July, they are going after sig, and have removed there old letter look on tube and there are a few reading the rules, I just built a pistol I think I'll try your check piece, though it cannot be shouldered, another gift from the land of the free

Anyone attempting this MODIFICATION, should carefully read the ATF decision and get very reputable advice… This use of the AR pistol is currently a violation. Be Careful in any build.

You must be referring to the March letter. In November they retracted their comments and made it clear that it doesn't matter how the buffer tube/etc is designed if you intend to use it to shoulder it is illegal. Do not shoulder a ar pistol PERIOD.

This is from Thordsens page, and an excerpt from that ATF letter: (It clearly says shoulder firing "may" reclassify your AR Pistol w/ this cheek rest as an SBR)

However, BATFE does specifically warn that any misuse of, or modification to, this configuration that may cause a firearm to be used outside of its design parameters, such as being shoulder fired, may change its classification and may make a firearm subject to NFA and GCA regulations and/or illegal to possess.

Here's the most solid advice you'll ever hear about the shouldering of your AR-15, AK or any other pistol. Don't do it…….unless you want to. Even if you don't want to really bad, fuck it, do it anyway. Might make you feel better. At some point the bullshit from this government has got to stop, and only the people can make that happen. Anyone who doesn't realize that it's about the money is an idiot. If you buy one of the braces, you're not paying a $200 tax stamp. I think enough 3 lettered government agencies are getting enough of our money, and fucking over our freedoms. They can suck and blow on this issue.

I tried this set up and I must have installed it all wrong.  Yours appears to be pretty stable.  Mine "wobbled" all over the buffer tube.  Maybe some hints as to how to fix in a stable condition.

I think this looks cooler than than SIG brace. Is it legal to install this on an AK pistol?  I have the Yugo M92 bracket for M4 stock/buffer tube.
