Lawful Defense Guns & Transfers in Gainesville, Florida have been friends of the Hank Strange Situation for a long time, and for a while both Hank and Lola Strange have wanted to build their own AR-15 Rifles. So Lawful Defense donated this Spikes Tactical Lower, they carry in their store, and Lola took on the first build, using a CMMG Lower Parts Kit. With the help of conveniently color coded bags CMMG provides in the package and a useful video (link below) Lola was able to assemble the lower for the first time, with only a few problems, the biggest of which was loosing the indent pin for the forward takedown pin.

omg please arrange a lunch with lola and my wife! I cant get sheba to clean her ruger!! thanks for the inspiration!
Impressive!
I'm looking to move to Gainesville in about a year. (my mother has been living there for about 5 years) I was wondering how the local Cleo is with NFA items. I don't care to get a machine gun or anything like that, but years of shooting almost daily have destroyed my hearing and I badly want to invest in a Sound suppressor so I can have a future with hearing. Living in Dirty Jersey right now, but they don't allow anything fun. Anyone having luck? I'm certain by the time I get out there trusts will have been ruined.
Great Video Mr. Strange! Â Aaargo Jay sent me to your vid on the lower build. Cant wait to get my lower started!Â
Congrats on her first build awesome parts to. How did you get a spikes tactical lower receiver donated ? I interested in having my wife do the same thing as Lola. This will be her first build also I want her too also build the upper also I would like to have her build it on nothing but donated parts . I have no problems promoting sponsors or contributors of the project. If you can help me and my wife out that would be great she is just getting into firearms ..
Congratulation! I've built my own AR15 with CMMG supply but the only different is i bought 80% lower and milled it out myself. I find it that 80% lower are more rewarding cause your really doing it from scratch. Brownells sell all kind of a AR15 tools cheaper.Â
hank if I buy a crib in Florida, Can I own any gun I want like mp5's barret 50"s and full auto uzi's and such, how about full auto in general ??? im a Canadian?
great job ..we have all lost a detent pin ! lol
Great job Lola …..good video!
you guys are doing a fantastic job.  i began to watch you in your infancy of your endeavor. i think you guys do your homework and its great to see that you have passion for this.  as far as an upper blackriflearms.com give those guys a call i think you will be thoroughly please with their products. plus its a company in your neck of the woods.  Go Gators. Good luck to you both.
Awesome job guys. Husband and wife making youtube gun videos together… what a great way to spend rime together. (And make a little money while your at it)
Its surprisingly easy to assemble a stripped lower. I bought a stripped M&P15 lower on 12/12/12. that was my first attempt at building. Still on the hunt for an upper.
great stuff Lola ,I love to see women showing men the way forward,
go go go.
I think it's definitely a good idea to keep a few pieces of hardwood around – like square oak dowels – for hammering in pins to avoid marring the metal finish.
that is cool
That's awesome. I really like seeing little projects like this, it's so much fun to do abd say hey I did that! And best if all its cheaper too!
You are a very lucky man. Couples who shoot together have more fun together.
Awesome job girl!!
Awesome. I plan on picking up that same lower to replace my broken Polymer80 lower. I dig Punisher stuff and saw one of these at my local gun counter. Great video! Excellent job as first time builder.
you go girl!!!
Great job Lola and Hank keep up the good work.
Great job Lola Strange! I'm getting ready to build my first AR, my package with all the stuff just came in yesterday and all I need to get is a barrel and I'll be ready to rock so this vid helped me for sure!
Peace, David
good for her. hank strange!! it's your turn now… if it were my lower. i would put a set screw behind the rear take-down pin detent spring. just so nothing couldn't get lost if you change the buffer tube later.
nice job Lola
Lola should definitely not fear the camera. It certainly likes her.
Your a lucky lucky man Hank lol !
Thanks guys for this most excellent vid. I will be doing my first lower assy. in a couple of weeks. Need to do the finish machining on my Ares Armor 80% first. I will use this and the CMMG video to keep me out of the weeds.
Nice job Lola you rock!!! I can't wait to see the rest of it!
Neat, we both have the same italian army of darkness poster.
oh yeah, mag catch then bolt release makes it easier
when you put the pivot and take down detents in put the whole lower in a big Ziploc bag if it pops out it gets caught in the bag
Nice to see women interested in the build process good one Mrs strange…
Well done Lola, the only thing I did not notice in the video was the Mag release button installation did not seem tightened to flush with the button step. Maybe it is not that important, but for myself I like the button flush with the screw. All in all I was excited for you with your first build, its very cool that you both share this activity. Thanks for taking the time. Well Done.
Really fun to watch Lola Strange show us all how much fun it can be to put together a AR lower. Â Great stuff!Â
if lola can do it I can do it
Watching for Lola.
Geat job Lola & Hank thanks for the Video.
Not too shabby for my first attempt..I'd love to know of any tools that will come in handy.. What is a must have tool for building an AR??
Way to go Lola! Now all I have to do is get my girl to watch so she can build her own. Great way to learn about the gun and all the parts. Keep up the good work!
well done! super interesting 🙂
Nice job Lola!!! Well done with the camera and directing Hank!
Very nice! I think +Lola Strange needs a Wheeler Pivot Pin Tool for her birthday!
