To start a basic argument, the ar15/m4 variant rifle, is superior to the ak47 in every possible way. It's modular, reliable, easy to clean, easy to fix, and I fucking love it. But when we compare ammo, 7.62×39 is nuts! So, cmmg coming out with a variant that shot this cartridge seemed like a great option, and a natural evolution. I'm glad to see someone had a great experience with rifle, as I want this exact gun, and exact same optic.
I own one. Did the same exact thing you had to do. Ran 500 rounds threw it a week ago. Runs like a champ. Not a single issue. Shot tulamo and Russian brass. Very happy now. They would only tell me they chang d the BCG.
even the high end AR 15s sometimes have to go back to the factory to be looked over,most people who don't,but people who do own one,it's a bad ass rifle.

7.62×39 made a lot more sense back in the day when you could get a 1440 rd case of it for $80. I bought several cases of Chinese ammo and it was very reliable. Most was made around 1970.

I would opt for the 16" barrel so I could thread on a suppressor. If I wanted a 7.62×39 rifle, I would buy an upp for my AR-15.

everyone says 7.62×39 is ballistically the same as 30-30. The 30-30 definitely has more torque than 7.62×39

I get that cheap steel case is a good bargain but there's no law that says that you MUST use it. "Should be able to use it" is fair. I handload the stuff because I can. It's easy on the powder cannister and I like it better than 30-30.

the claw for the extractor could be sharp n digging into the rim of the case which could hold the empty case in place I had it happen with a ar15

Close to 1800 bucks for what is a less of a AK only in the USA can you redesign a wheel and give a inferior product and ask for more money based on looks. I would much rather have the 3 AKs I could buy for the price of this one gun.
if a rifle won't run wolf I don't want it wolf is my preference of range ammo
ive never seen one of those rifles run well. stick with the ak or sks if you want a 7.62×39

I have one of the original 16 inch Mutant rifles and it eats everything especially Wolf which will also group sub MOA at 100 yards all day long. CMMG does have great customer service so no surprise that they fixed your rifle.
All these AK remakes are shit. They were designed because Obama was in office shutting off the overseas supply and the fear that Hillary was coming into office. The prices on Factory Manufactured Arsenals and FiME Grp AKs has come down under 1,000 dollars. Buying these American made AKs is a mistake, why fix what isn't broken. And definitely stay away from the America made Century Arms, PSA, IO and former DDI. SLR107 at under 800 and Russian AK FiME Grp under 1k; messing with these other wannabes is just a waste.
