No, the Streamlight button does not get any easier. I've had three and still like (and use) them but my main EDC penlight is the ThruniteTI4.
Hi Doc!
Cath lab nurse for many years and do lots of neuro checks. Always in need of a good penlight! Thanks for the review. Lots of good info!
Thanks for the great work, quick question do you prefer clear or natural light for the thrunite?
I've had the Streamlight for about 3 years and the tail cap is easy to use since purchased. I like the options on the thru nite I'm going to check it out thanks for the post
the streamlight has a plastic lens, btw. great video on both.
I used to carry the Streamlight daily. Went through several. My Levis kept wearing through the rubber tail cap.
By the way you can also switch the ti4 mode by turning the head of the light off and on again similar with the clicking of the button but might be washer for some.
Pretty evenly matched. I've never used the streamlight but I have 3 ti4. One for a friend, one for my dad, and one for me. I'm the heaviest user of them all. My dad hasn't taken it out of the box and my friend sparingly uses his up at his property in Wisconsin. Since my dad don't use his is a backup for me. One thing I noticed on one of them was the pocket clip was loose on one but tight on another. It was a side to side play even with the top fully tighten. I didn't get to see if the 3rd one had any play before I gave it away. Next time I get my hands on it I will check. I love the Ti4 I have it everyday with me and it has come in handy so many times. With my Ti4 and my leatherman wave I feel almost unstoppable. There's nothing I cant tackle or try to fix.
Never really experienced such stiffness with any of my streamlights. Think your's may be defective. With that being said, the Thrunight really seems very good and will very likely be my replacement for the Streamlights. Thank you for the comparison.
The only time I would need to shine a light in someone's eye would be for a tactical purpose. So for me the momentary switch on the Streamlight wins. Great vid as usual.
That Streamlight button does in fact soften over consistent use, I see no reason to change to the the TN personally, Streamlight fits my needs unless I need something alot brighter which I always keep a variety of lights on me or in vehicle. Good info though, I haven't even heard of the TN pen light, thanks!
