My thoughts on the .22 conversion kit from Tactical Industries. This is a great kit that is made in the USA by a company that has been in the military armament business of over 50 years.

that company is Ciener Firearms, btw. The owner is a complete a-hole, but you have to have such a unit.
Has anyone else had an issue with their BCG getting stuck to the rear? I pull back the charging handle and it pops forward but after only manipulating the bolt forward with my knife?
is this better than the cmmg?
Got mine in today and I have to say my initial impressions are very poor. To rule everything out I have a few questions. What length barrel(s) did you shoot yours with? What ammo? Did you run it dry, out of the box? After how many rounds did you clean?Did you get the mags with the metal feed lips or the polymer? How many rounds?
I used my 10.5" 223wylde barrel in my AR pistol. Mainly running Federal AutoMatch with some CCI Mini Mags mixed in. Initially ran it dry and after 150 rounds I had maybe 25 malfunctions (mixture of failure to fire, failure to feed, failure to eject, bulle tstuck between wall of the upper and the guide rod that reuire complete removal of bcg to get out, etc…). It was pretty caked in carbon at that point. So it got cleaned off with ballistol. Another 75 rounds and maybe 4 malfunctions. 3 FTFs and one double feed.
I even had one bullet get caught between the follower and side of the mag wall… Luckily it fell to the bottom of the mag where I was able to remove the base plate and get it out. When I put up my video I'll send you a link.
I took the whole bcg apart and cleaned it really well and lubed it a lot. I'll try again tomorrow to see how it goes before making a final judgement.
Will it only work with their mags?
i wonder if you could charge the initial round and then fire it repeatably with the stock folded using something like the Law Tactical Folder. Since the conversion bcg is all self contained it doesn't need the buffer besides the initial charging of the first round.
