Atomicatomu, I just ordered the HL to replace my old TLR-1. I will let advise if it fits a duty style holster. I prided it from Amazon for $145 with shipping and it should be here early next week.
As far as the measure of lumens goes, the Streamlight HL series outputs more, 630 in contrast to 500 for the Surefire X300. However, there are far more variables than just lumens to consider when purchasing your light.
is it brighter than the sure fire x300 ultra?
It unscrews from a bit behind the silver ring closer to the main body of the light. I believe that is right at the heat sink.
Streamlight's website states that all dimensions are the same, length, width, height, and weight. This being said, the website also indicates that the Streamlight TLR-1 HL "fits existing light bearing holsters"
From opticsplanet. However, I saw it on lapolicegear for approximately $138 USD recently
Where did you pick that up from?
