I review the excellent Streamlight ProTac 2AA and 1AA flashlights. These are great AA lights that are super tough and very affordable. The AA power source makes the lights very easy to find batteries and the size makes them perfect for EDC, hunting, prepping, self-defense, or as a backup light. HIGHLY recommend!

  1. Just ordered one of these. I carried the Microstream for 3 years of hard use until it began to finally crap out on me. I decided I needed another EDC flashlight, but wanted to go with a bigger and brighter light, but one that is still compact enough not to bulge out my pocket and make my EDC bulkier. I wanted to go with another Streamlight since my experience with the Microstream was positive and they are great quality for the affordable cost. Good review! I look forward to getting this thing in the mail.

  2. Nice review–I am thinking about getting one via the NRA Store simply because I need one and have no problem paying a premium for it as the difference goes to defend 2A. Nice compact relatively potent illumination looks like it will get the job done.

  3. The strobe is great to have someone focus their attention away from you. What I am saying is you leave the light on strobe in a fixed position while they approach the light you are actually in a POSITION OF ADVANTAGE so you DONT get shot first! In the academy your life is judged by POSITION of ADVANTAGE- This applies to bad guys too in life!

  4. I just picked one of these up yesterday… I noticed you already fielded a question about the strobe function and whether you use it or not. My question is, what is the PHILOSOPHY behind the strobe function in the first place? Are we just trying to give the bad guy a seizure? Scare him with the flashing light? I would just as soon do without that function, in all honesty. What do you think?
