  1. Been watching your videos for awhile. Decided to build a AR pistol, Similar to yours but with a 10.5 FAXON Barrel and the G3 12inch guard that I will put a Linear Compensator at the end . What size gas tube should I use CARBINE or MID LENGTH?

  2. I got the 13" for my 14.5 build and it's pretty nice. I really like the scalloped edges and integrated QD mounts. I think it's also in the top 3 for light weight.

  3. Key mod rail is one big qd mount. The sling can attach anywhere on the rail. You don’t need that extra qd mount for key mod. I made the same mistake when I went to key mod.

  4. I have both Keymod and MLOK handguards. One thing I hate about MLOK is the accessory hardware. Using slim handguards with most Magpul MLOK accessory hardware causes the screws to hit the barrel and or gas block. Unless I build an upper with a pencil type barrel or a slim handguard with an ID wider than 1.3", I always resort to cutting the MLOK screws to work without hitting the barrel/gas block. Keymod never has that problem. Both are great retention systems however Keymod has better ease of use. Keymod also has more aftermarket support, which is simultaneously good and bad. The bad is that there are alot of manufacturers building substandard parts that make them easy to come off. Stick with Keymod accessories that have positive recoil lugs.

Love this rail, I have two 12.625" MLOK G3 versions on a 16" rifle length gas dissipator and 14.5" intermediate barrel uppers.

  5. I'm a big fan of the ALG EMR rails. They're a little wider than your MI, with a 1.75" OD.
my only complaint on the EMRs is that their built in QD mounts are only on the receiver side of the rail, and that's pretty minor.
I prefer M-lok over Keymod, but luckily ALG makes their EMRs with either for variety.
the thing I love about the the ALG rail is you don't need a torque wrench. comes with it's own purple barrel nut wrench with notches to show when it's torqued properly
