In this video I remove the factory pinned buttstock from my Rock River Arms AR15 and replace it with a MagPul CTR stock that I pin to make it NY compliant.

You ought to drill through each 6 positions in the buffer tube, tap the holes and use a set screw… then you can adjust the length again (sort of lol).
You love the muscle
I wonder who the liberal retard was? who conjured up this special piece of legislature? demanding a perfectly good adjustable stocks should get pinned!! it`s just as stupid as 10 round magazines. Those two items really limit what a murdering criminal can do! it's pure genius! a criminal can now kill only 10 people, and feel very uncomfortable too,not being able to adjust the stock length. MAGA!!!!!
Great video. I have an AR-15 that had the stock pinned when I lived in NJ. i came to my senses a few years ago and moved to FL. The position is not right; is there an easy way to extract the pin or do I need to get a new buffer tube and stock? Suggestions?
NY stupid enough to vote for Hillary . get rid of your stupid laws and the democrats and you might have a decent state in a couple of decades.
There is a tool for working on these ar style guns. $15.00 normally , It's a multi tool capable of doing many functions .
I'm sure the bad guys are looking at this video real close ,so they won't break the law !
Having you but stock blows, I would advise you to leave NY and come to a gun friendly state like Georgia or Texas.
thanks for the good video and trolls can… just go away
I live in California where we have similar evil features law. I frequently shoot out of state. Number 1: When drilling start with smaller drill bit for a pilot hole. Number 2: Good luck getting that roll pin out. Better to use a small screw to fix it in place. I also use an easily removable fin over my Magpul Moe grip. When shooting in Nevada and Arizona it only takes a couple of minutes to return it to a normal state.
Pin free in Indiana ! God it's great to be free
Quality video, but the 'necessity' at the root of it kills the soul. Stay strong brother.
What brand is that hand guard?
God damn I'm fortunate to live in a free state. NY sucks.
I have a question in case I have to do the same thing living in this damn state of NY!! I thought that the stock had to be at it's fully extended position to be compliant with NY's BS law! Maybe I wrong and hopefully so, because I like my stock up close. What do you think about this my concerns?
I thought we had it bad in CA, but at least butt stocks aren't required to be pinned.
communist liberal sheep that have no idea how a firearm works are to blame for ruining a perfectly adjustable stock, using the liberal logic, I think not allowing people to adjust their seats in their cars would prevent car fatalities as well.
I mean for Christ sake if that " stock " wasn't pinned we might just have a Dirty Harry on our hands🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would just use a regular stock. I live in ct.
ATTENTION ALL MAGPUL CTR & MOE OWNERS WHO ARE LOOKING TO PIN YOUR STOCK:
Zero cost, drill one hole, that simple. Just remove the roll pin holding the plunger assembly. Remove spring and cross bar. Re-insert plunger into stock attached to buffer tube and position length to where you want to pin. Rotate plunger 90 degrees, to where pre-drilled hole at bottom of plunger lines up to any side of stocks roll pin hole, firmly re-insert the roll pin to hold plunger in place. Flip the stock over and use 3/32 drill bit inserted into the roll pin hole to drill hole into the other side of the plunger. Once hole is drilled, remove roll pin from other side and tap roll pin into the hole just drilled to pin the plunger in place. Done.
Worst case scenario buy new roll pin (3/32 x 3/4) $.50 – $. 60.

● man… thanks for making this. its because of you i was able to get this off without damaging anything. i traded it out for the ACS carbine storage stock. you rock, thanks again!
As ridiculous and stupid as these laws are telling someone they should move is almost as ridiculous it not that simple. Please keep in mind making a few cosmetic changes does not change how the rifle operates the action is still the same it may take a little bit of time to get use to the feel and holding it but a true enthusiast will adapt and overcome and still have fun. In California if you leave your AR as is your required to register your gun even though it was when you purchased it and all that is if your caught with it they can take it away from you and know matter what you do to try to get it back their intent is to never give it back and that means they win. We can only hope with the new President and the Republican congress that some of these new laws will get rolled back but this can take time and know matter what you hear from Washington the 2 Amendment is not a priority to them because it's only about getting vote when you hear them talk about it. Well long winded so just go out and have fun shooting.
you could of just gone with the Magpul Moe fixed Stock which you wouldn't need to drill anything. I live in California I won't be registering my AR 🖕
You must be single because if you were married and your wife saw you put that oily gun on her carpet she would load it up and shoot you with it !LOL
Very helpful video…for us here in California. Thanks for posting! 🙂
Thank god the stock is pinned, that saved so many lives.
