I bought an EOTECH 512, rev. F about 2 years ago
I have been generally happy with it.
however, recently I noticed a very strange issue
there seems to be a “dead circle” of sorts, through which the holograph struggles to be seen
this video describes it better than any words could…
anyone have any idea wtf is causing this?

my 512 is doing the same thing.
I have this same problem now with my EXPS-3-2. I've had it for about 1.5 – 2 years now. On top of that, the report of it having MOA shifts during temperature changes. Sad to say it, going aimpoint…
mine has two years and is with this problem. I think it's the shelf life of the lens. a device so expensive, made to face extreme environments and lasts only two years?
My EXPS 3-0 makes the same. It is Sooo sad. I'm from Germany and there is no service center in European countries. They will fix it by warranty but the shipping costs about 100 euro. I have two aimpoint and two docter sights and there are no issues.
just went through two exps3-0 sights and BOTH of them had the issue
Mine is doing this right now and I'm getting ready to send it back. The warranty expires tomorrow, what did eotech do for you? Did you find out more as to why this happens?
throw it in the garbage
It's the holographic lens coating. I have the same problem.
As it turns out, the lens coating is apparently organic. So when nitrogen leaks out, oxygen pours in and slowly eats away at the organic coating.. it only gets worse.
$159 out of warranty..
Same thing happened to my 511. I noticed it 2 days ago. Almost 2 years from the date of purchase. It has been sent to eotech for repairs. I would expect them to fix it for free, but we will see.
they will fix it
your lens seems to be jacked return to eo tech should be ez fix for them
