Would you stick with the vortex is my question
If anyone is looking for one of these I have a brand new one in the box I’m looking to sell. Originally bought because of my astigmatism but got eyes corrected and I’m just running red dot now. This is brand new with the mount as well.
Sootch00, I have a stupid question. What if I zero at 100 yards and then take some shots at 25-50 yards. How far off do you think the red dot would be? I want this scope so that I can reach out a little further but I still want the capability of being able to shoot much shorter distances like you would with a red dot.
Does this scope have capped turds?

Do you have a review for the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24mm?
so the reticle always appears the same size, ie not even the reference points/mil dots/whatever are magnified when increasing magnification? (edit: reticle is all in 2nd focal plane but that's probably best for a 1-4x scope) Doesn't matter much though, since one would set it at 4x if one needs to do range finding…

Vortex does take care of the customer. I accidentally dropped mine off the bench and bent it. Within a week they sent me a new one no questions asked. In my opinion that's worth staying with Vortex.
great review sir ……the gen II is out now 1×6……running about 699.00…..but now has the same glass as the razor…….worth it, at first did not want to buy vortex because it was not made in the US but you cannot beat the quality for the money very impressed!!

I have yet to find a bad Vortex scope or sight!
My top picks in this price point were Viper PST, Leupold VX-R, Athlon Argos. All because the warranties are the same. I went with the Argos simply due to the FFP Mil. Everything else between the scopes is equal.
I have a question? If I use an m16 style rifle and mount then in top. On my carry handle and I set my iron sights to 50 yards should I set the scope to 150 yards or what

Sootch00, I see that you have a 20 moa scope base. Have you found that to be the go to base for the AR and Vortex Viper PST 1-4x 24 scope and if so why?
Looks like they discontinued it. I think maybe they are coming out with a new gen model…hope it's the pst in the 1-6
sootch, I am between the viper pst and the leupold vx6… should I just pony up and get the leupold? Do you think those two are even comparable?
