  1. I have a double vs triple quad a with a red light, it sits in a drawer with a couple of triple quads. I found with these early models the push button switch fails quickly, maybe my fault as l had carefully applied petroleum jelly on the threads like they used to recommend for maglites and it may have found it's way into the switch. a shame as I really like the slim design

  2. Lightweight, intense light, easy to operate with one hand- this would be an incredible tool for law enforcement or an emergency responder. I'm buying a few more immediately I doubt one could ask for a more versatile hand held light. The beam is very intense- might even do well as a self-defense item as it is blinding if shone directly in the eyes. Money well spent!

Just saw this on Amazon: Streamlight 66118 Stylus Pro Black LED Pen … by Streamlight http://amzn.to/2bFiReK

  3. @phbsdkfsduhf That really stinks. I have a pistol light from them and I hope they take better care of me if something happens to that. I would keep trying if I were you.

  4. cont. as of today my edc lights are : Maratec AA & AAA Single Cell Models, Mag-Lite LED AA 2 Cell Model, and Streamlight Stylus Pro AAA 2 Cell Model. I Also keep a Three Cell and a Sex Cell AAA Rocky brand flashlight in my car (got them at Sam's Club) and I Have an older Streamlight PolyStinger Xenon model that I sometimes use as a backup but it eats batteries.

  5. Cont. for example…most of the time I roll with a camera/ video camera that has a AA power source, but when I go on a photography specific trip then i bring my Nikon with its lithium batts. because it is the only item that can work with my nikon lenses. That being said, I still bought the bottom mount pack that will let me run it on AA batts, the li-ion just work better. I am a redundancy freak though, I carry 4 lights on me & 2 more in car. I know that is freakish but I can't work w/o them.

  6. @wb5mgr First, I am not really using the Streamlight much these days. I use it in one carry scenario where I have an empty pen pocket. Second, with the internet, it isn't really a big deal to get a couple packages of the odd batteries to have around. Third, this light has really fallen behind the times. It just can't hold a candle to other lights like the Preon or the Maratac AAA.

  7. In fact, I had some really nice high end rechargeable lights and I gave them up to convert to a system that uses only AA and AAA batts because of ease to replace. Not just my lights but all tools, my flip video, my digital camera, my flash, all run on AA for that reason. Even switched my keychain light to a single AAA light from a coin cell light.

  8. I like this lite, but its really a better lite for a doctor or someone who needs a little lite for work. For out in the world/wild I like the stylus pro with the Cree led. It runs on either 1 or 2 AAA batts depending on the model u bought. Brighter, and somewhat thicker… But much easier to find replacement batts for. I only know one or two places in my town u can get AAAA batts but everybody has AAA.

  9. Hey don't feel too bad. I pride myself on identifying knives and guns that I see on TV or in movies no matter how short the shot. I do pretty well but I have been stumped before.
