I was going to buy the Athlon Ares 4 x 27 until I saw this. I do have the Athlon helos which is a pretty decent scope. But I want something with a little bit better glass. In your opinion which one do you recommend?

I was at Cabela's today and had a look through the scope. I have four Viper PSTs Gen 1 and I can say without fear of contradiction that the glass on the sample I looked through was not in the same league as the Vortex. The scope seemed to me to be somewhat cloudy and dull, I think they cut the corner in the glass area.
