Hi Folks, Lance here from
In this How To Video I Assemble a Dedicated .22 Caliber Upper Receiver for my AR-15 using a CMMG .22 Caliber Bravo Model SS Conversion Kit with 25 Round Magazine, a CMMG WASP M4 Contour .22 LR Barrel with 1:16 Twist, a UTG Pro Full Float Hand Guard and UTG Pro Quad Rail Gas Block, and a DPMS A1 Flash Hider.
I mount this Upper Receiver on my old stand-by Olympic Arms “Live Free or Die” Lower Receiver which has a UTG Pro 6 Position Mil-Spec M4/AR15 Collapsible Stock.
I have had this gun for a year now, and I wanted to do this video to show how easy it was to assemble a Dedicated .22 Cal AR-15 Upper.
The CMMG Conversion has worked flawlessly for me and the CMMG WASP Barrel is quite accurate. The whole thing is topped off with a Rimfire Optimized Nikon P-22 2-7X32 with BDC 150 Reticle that not only looks good with the matching AR Platform Rings, but is clear and easy to use.
I have had so much fun with this gun that it has achived Favorite Gun Status in my book.
If you talk to the folks at CMMG or Nikon, tell them Lance sent you, and I Promised that their products would not disappoint.
Don't need gas block , just mount front sight to handguard
Thanks much for the excellent step-by-step, I want to build my own .22 upper and this paves the way.
how much for all the parts?
thank you for posting this video. it helped me alot on how to build a dedicated .22 upper. thanks !
The Manufacturer, CMMG, advises the following;
There is no need for the headspace to be done on this system as it is not needed in the blow back operated systems.
What about checking head space
cost?
Hello and Thank You!
All the parts are linked on the website, TriggerShims on the AR-15 Shims Page and are available there or at Brownell's through the links on that page.
can you provide a parts list and associated costs for this build? I am wanting a 22lr full upper and your video is excellent! Thanks
Thank You for taking the time to watch and comment on my video, I think you will enjoy the CMMG .22 as much as I have, and you will have more fun than buying it built too!
Plus, their full line of kits, parts and accessories shows their commitment to us, the end users.
Good Shooting, Lance
Answers questions I had about the CMMG 22 products. The conversion vs dedicated stuff on their site left me a little unsure. I have a registered lower, so you can understand the need for a .22. I didnt realize these could be ANY upper. I may just build one if it ends up the same as one of their dedicated uppers assys. Thanks.
Hi, Thank You!
No, but the complete CMMG .22 Upper is available at Brownells
Nice work, do you guys sell these already assembled?
