A terrific mid-priced red dot sight for your AR-15

I had a chance to check out the Vortex OPMOD Strikefire II on my AR-15. It’s a great sight for the price. I like red dot sights anyway. They really help with quick target acquisition and low light shooting.

  1. Here's the big question for me regarding red dots: will the dot be washed out by my AR's nite lite in my hallway at 2 am. I am lo-tech but have heard that "holograms" are washed out by flashlight…though I don't know if this red dot is a hologram or if you know differences between one type of red dot working with light and others not working so well. Right now, when my can comes in, I'm planning to work it with my lite and just use iron sights. If a good red dot would help in such a quick look sort of a scenario, I'd consider it. I just don't want to pay 3-500 $$$ to find out (no, I know no one who has one. I know, I need to circulate more). thanks.
