not supposed to line it up straight. the line of sight crosses the point of impact. the sight is 3 inches above the bore

Odd question but where did you get that tool you are using to adjust the eotech?
I thought zeroing at 25 yards is the same as 100?
It will be faster if you put the dot of the eotech roughly 2'' higher than your laser bore sight at that range, it should put you right on that diamond quickly, then just refine it from there using your sand bag for a more accurate zero.
From what i have researched that sighting your rifle for 50 yards is optimal …check it out..
