A look at the Rapid Take Down Kit from Mid America Armament. This rail system allows for removal or assembly of the hand guard and barrel in about 30 seconds.

Jeremiah at MAA is great and helped me get their RTD kit for my Olympic 45. Being blowback I don't even have to worry with the gas tube. Fits great, shoots great, and makes my gun tons lighter than the quad rail that come on my carbine. I haven't seen any issues so far with several on and off sessions and just cranking it down by hand and clamping on the handguard! I even hand cranked it too hard that I needed the tool to get it off! So the clamping rail works great.
Old video I know, but the system just flat out Rocks! I have become a fan of this hand guard system.
I wonder if your POI would have been more consistent if the 300 BO was supersonic. I am no expert, but wouldn't the slower heavier subsonic rounds drop more in that distance?
Ill stick with the dolos
Cool idea, but seems like it takes way longer because you have to take the rail and barrel off as 2 separate pieces.
For a quick takedown rifle setup, I'd much prefer the Huntertown Arms Dolos (Greek god of deception) system, or the Cry Havoc Tactical QRB (Quick Release Barrel) system.
They both let you take the barrel and rail/hand guard off as one complete part, and with the Dolos you can use either the smooth vented hand guard that comes with it or any YHM (Yankee Hill Machine) rail, as it uses the YHM barrel nut. With the QRB, you can use pretty much any rail on the market.
Great info, thanks for the video
Neat, but how does one keep from forgetting what barrel is attached to the upper? Hate to see a 300blk being in a 5.56 barrel.
Barrel length ?
