Do not buy this scope if you want to put the sunshade on it as advertised on the Nikon website. Reason I state this is because a sunshade does not exist and they are wrongly advertising it.
Very good product
I have this scope mounted on my DPMS LR-308. Smoked 2 deer this past weekend. First one at 127 yards in woods and the second one at 171 yards in the woods. I checked the light gathering ability and was impressed. When I could no longer see my deer laying with my naked eyes at dark, I could clearly see to shoot it with my scope at various powers. Yes there are high end scopes that will gather more light and are somewhat clearer but how much light is really enough. I guess if I was a night sniper and need to do a retinal scan with my scope it would make sense to buy the best high end made. I have only shot out to 300 yards with this scope but it does everything I need. I am very pleased. And the Nikon Spot on app is just freaking awesome. I own 4 Nikon scopes but this one with the 50 mm is definitely the one I would recommend for deer hunting and similiar size animals.
