Bushmaster AR15 M4 Patrolman A3 Review @ Trigger Happy

While I’ve been tough on Bushmaster for some of their models in the past, the Patrolman A3 is one of the better ones they make. Marketed to law enforcement, this gun is made to be reliable and user friendly.

  2. Thankyou much. Today is NOV 19 2015. I can buy a Bushmaster ORC 16 M4 with chrome barrel for $550 after rebate. I was going to buy a Ruger 556 for $700. I don't know what to do ? Please help soon. Thanks

  3. I own both a rock river lar15 a2 standard and a bushmaster magpul bougt both new last year. After shooting both for awhile I much prefer the bushmaster. both hit the same and both have pretty heavy trigers. the rock river has failed to eject on four occasions. The Bushmaster has been flawless. and the bushmaster was nearly half of the price of the rock river. After maybe A little over 1000 rounds flawless.

  4. I have had this rifle for a couple of years now. I have shot approximately 6000 rounds through it at the range and in the woods and have NEVER had a failure of any kind. like any AR platform its important to keep it clean. i have field stripped this rifle and cleaned it every 250 rounds and performed a thorough cleaning every 1000 rounds, or whenever it is going to sit for an extended period of time without being used. very smooth action for an AR after it breaks in a little.

I am very happy with this firearm overall and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a nice sporting rifle.

  5. Mine does sub moa groups with american eagle 55 gr bt 223 and zmax from hornandy at 100 yards. I have free floated it and put a timney trigger, as well as a trijicon tr24 1 to 4. 5000 plus rounds in 1 year without a single failure, love my bushy.

  6. I got this rifle on layaway at dunhams for 650. Absolutely stunned at that price. They were having a sale, and I had wanted this particular rifle for a long time. But it was normally like 950-1000, so when I saw it for 650, I HAD to do it lol layaway is magic o3o

  7. I have a Bushie M-4A3……It's a great rifle. It could use an after-market charging handle and bolt carrier group. Out of the box, it shoots just fine- no issues. Guys should really pay attention to their ammo and magazines. If you are having feed-issues, that's where your trouble lies…..

  8. Lots of people bash Bushmaster but they build a reasonable gun for a reasonable price. I had a very old one that I shot for years & was very happy with it. My friend bought a Freedom Group Bushmaster & I must say I was impressed with it. She hasn't let me fire it yet but I must say it looks like they bumped up the quality a bit with Remington.  It's no Daniel Defense but it's a solid value. I am looking at getting a lightweight rifle & I am leaning towards the Bushmaster Carbon 15.

  9. Yes. This bushy model is using traditional single heat shield handguard, while the colt is using double one. The double heat shield can prevent more of barrel overheating during the intensive shooting circumstance.
IMO, the thinner handguard is prettier than the thicker one. That's why i went for this one, purely for aesthetic reason. And i don't care much about the "Mil Spec", since i'm not a serious shooter, i go out shooting only once every month, never let the barrel overheat.

  10. Picked up one of these M4A3 to carry on duty. After a few upgrades Pistol grip, Quad rail, Lucid HD7 sight, fore grip with bipod from the military, light and green laser combo with pressure switches. All my shots are on target at POA. God forbid that if I ever have to bring her out while on duty, she will insure that I'm going home that night.

  11. They Are Probably getting them for $100 less than you. They can sell them cheaper, the same way they can sell anything cheaper. Buy in huge amounts, When you buy 10-20 at once, walmart is buying 10,000(1 a store)-20,000(2 a store)

  12. I think your gun shop guns are up to par with most other guns in their price range. I still think the wally world versions are not the same quality that is being shipped to shops like mine. I've seen several come through the shop and they plain suck. It's just not possible to sell a gun for their prices and have the same quality. Either they buy them for $100 less than I do (possible), or they make a gun for big box stores that kind of sucks.

  13. I think the quality issue has been corrected in the past few years. I owned a Bushy years ago and to be honest it was pretty rough. I have since moved up to a pair of LWRC's and the quality is second to none. With that being said I did recently put a franken-gun together ie: CMMG lower, Bushmaster Dissy upper, MagPul furniture…. and the upper quality is very good. BCG is fantastic as is the bolt, properly staked gas key, power extractor and great fit and finish. Extremely happy

  14. You can always get a good AR15 no matter what make.. Just before you buy, make sure to look over the rifle before buying.. I own a Colt and a Bushmaster, they run up to par with each other.. Both equal quality. Checking the Stakes, feed ramps and overall build will guarantee you a very reliable rifle. For a semi automatic rifle, mil-spec parts are not needed, that is more for rifles that are Burst/Automatic.

  15. I bought a Bushmaster Rifle (90289) in March 2013, I'm pretty sure this is the same gun in this vid.
This firearm is a VERY BASIC ATTEMPT to emulate the M4 platform.
The buffer tube is commercial, not mil-spec.
The feed ramps are "almost" M4 style. They are shallow and not properly aligned.
The trigger is harsh…VS my stock Armalite M15A4.
