Love your videos brother!
I think what I appreciated most about the review is how rough you were with it.
anyone else having problems with intermittent flickering under recoil, or dead light until you twist the tail cap?
Did you say “photonic barriers” ??
What pistol grip is that…its god damn beautiful ! ! !
Great review, you sold me on this light.
Your drop test was killer, lol.
I am not a flower, lol nice. How many lumens is the sun btw?
3rd drop it broke the block lol
Would you trust this light as much as a surefire scout for a duty rifle?
Awesome review. I currently have a Surefire scout on my rifle, but just picked up a HLX/Cloud Defense LCSmk2 combo for $120 something on eBay with a code.
The CD LCS is pretty handy with being able to run the pressure pad cable through it. I stumbled upon CD by chance when looking for pressure pad mounting options for my Surefire scout light. It may be a little pricey to some for what it does, but it's rock solid and no cheap zip ties to deal with and makes everything look clean and sharp.
Mine crapped out first run.
While you’re shooting, from the 12:19–12:32 mark in the video, the light appears to flicker under recoil. Was that just the camera or did you notice the HLX actually flicker under recoil at any point?
Thanks for the great, in-depth review!
What hand stop is that?
You really need an assistant for the balcony test
so he likes it? lol
You are one of the best firearms related channels. Great job
@SageDynamics how does this compare to the Surefire P3X Tactical? They don't even make that model anymore, but it's the closest one that 1000+ lumens, 20,000+ Candela, single mode tailcap and is super durable. This HLX looks like it has the P3X beat since it has more than 1 mode… but the only light I've found to REALLY blind someone that isn't massive and is handheld, is the Klarus XT11GT. I have found no other light that has as much blinding power even when you put your hand up in front of the light to try and block it. How does the HLX compare to it as I was def considering the HLX since it's half the cost and can utilize the Thyrm Switchback…
Great review!
Aaron how do u like that anchor?
Im comfused i went on amazon and there are a bunch of different models. Which models have the pressure switch with them. Is the 1000 lumin one the only one.
Sold it to me honestly thanks for the abuse test.
Excellent review as always. I’m about to pull the trigger on the LCS kit that includes the light but I have a question. You are running a key mod rail like I am, what is your preferred key mod to pic adapter and is it polymer? Concerned about the durability of the BCM polymer 3in pic rail adapter yonder heat and load, especially when using it as a barrier brace.
Okay.
The switch on my non weapon mounted version just stopped working one day
Was the light flashing under recoil ? It looked like it might have been toward the end of the vid?
What laser do you have?
What rifle is that?? Great video I will be buying that light!
Yeah I agree that candela is the better number to know I play airsoft and shoot on the side and when I play airsoft I need to blind people not just show them where I am
Do you have a problem with the light being mounted beyond the muzzle device openings?
Anyone in the comments having reliability issues with the tape switch that comes with the HLX? I switched back to my Surefire because I was having issues with the tape switch not working 100% of the time, mainly when I was shooting, about every ten rounds or so it would kick off and I would have to wiggle the wire. No issues with the tail cap though
Stream light is sure blowing surefire out of the water there days.
I'm looking at the hl-x or the hl for edc. I like the hl-x for 1000 lumens but is it good to go for pocket carry? I was planning on using a thrym switch back as well. Would appreciate some feedback
Have you had any issues with the pressure pad? I'm finding that the wire protector end cap will turn off the light based on it's rotational position. It's happened with two different pressure pad end caps, so it's coming off my rifle.
Aaron, have you encountered the light simply not turning on after shooting for a while? I've had this happen on 4 HLX lights. The two I originally bought, and the two I received back from Streamlight as warranty replacements. I'll function check the light at the beginning of a range session, then somewhere in the middle of my day, check it again to find its dead unless i hit it with my hand or mess with the tailcap. The lights are mounted similar to yours, close to the muzzle device, which in this case is a BCM comp, or a SiCo flash hider. Thanks for your input!
Streamlight reallly is doing some great stuff. But I'll have to stick with my Surefire. Hoping these two will duke it out and we will see a ton of innovation in the weapon light world.
Looking for advice.
Can anybody please tell me why i should run this over the TLR-1 HL on a long gun?
Similar output and run times?
What muzzle device is that?
Was looking at this, good to see another opinion and some tough test.
Solid and great review. I'm going to pick one up. Great price point and honestly can't see buying another surefire scout for double the price. Thanks
128.00 free two day shipping just bought two.

I just got the cloud defensive mount and it is the best pressure pad mounting system on the market bar none. I'll never have a rifle with that one ever again
