You chose poorly
I just finished a .762 (.308) build on an AR platform and mounted the same Vortex Scope. Looking forward to getting it on the raange and in the field. Thank for the video!
Primary Arms acss HUD.
Excellent choice, I favor the Vortex brand to any others
I was glad to hear you picked vortex, you won't be disappointed. I purchased a viper HST a few months back and it's amazing, plus if I get the random urge to put a bullet through it vortex will replace it no questions asked. send a scope with a bullet hole in it back to Nikon and seen if they replace it. nope only if it's a manufacturer defect.
there's a video out there where a vortex rep shows their stash of optics returned for replacement, some were shot, dropped of cliffs, and kicked by pack mules.
I'ld never have chosen between those two models. If it's going to be mounted on SPR, then the build is considered with precision minded. Both models lack the tracking reliability along with other details. Now, I guess budget was being considered and if it was really under $500, should have considered SWFA fixed 10X which has well proven track record. Or, could have saved little more and look into XTR2. That's my 2 cents.
Hey man! Love your channel. I'm from The CA Bay Area, so i feel the struggle too. Question for you. I just purchased a Ruger American .22 LR. I want to put a scope on there (preferably 1-4x, but I'm open to anything). What would you recommend?
First or second folkel
Im a huge vortex fan…. cant get away from it. I have used their customer service and it was second to none.
did you just say argon is lighter than nitrogen and that was a deciding factor? You do understand that the actual volume of gas we are talking about here make the weight difference in the nanograms range right?
I have 6 Nixon monarks and 2 of them fog on the outside lens in damp humid weather, the 40 degree foggy mornings. to the point you can't even clear them off. I'm changing them all . and I don't know what to get
Good choice! 🙂
Noice!, Hillary for Prison 2016!
GREAT SHIRT!
Either scope would be great, they are both good brands
But most vortex scopes come with the sun shade. Nice plus, had good luck with both brands myself. Not the same models, that is of no consequence.
Mine is the viper, long range adjustable zero stop turrets.
Been a great one so far.
Now that that choice is out of the way, hurry up and show us the new build man. 😂
As always thanks for the great vids, and the awesome pro shooters voice out in California.
One of the best!!!!
😀😀😀😀
Awesome man. Great choice. Really looking forward to the new build!
Air is ~80% nitrogen, so I wouldn't lose sleep of the purging gas… Vortex is a great choice 😀
I have the same scope it is pretty nice
good scope I have the Diamondback 3x9x40 & like it a lot
You made the right call! I've had a diamondback hp for a while now and truly love it. The wall to wall image is much better than the nikons
Why don't you make the decision to move out of that waste of space state California?
Brand names aside… It would not surprise me if both optics were manufactured out of the same factory. When I was in the optical business buying product out of Japan there were about 3 top optics factories actually in Japan producing for a large number of brands. Anything produced outside of Japan and Germany was considered second rate. The Vortex product is made in the Philippines… as it turns out Nikon optics are now made in Japan, Philippines and China. Nikon have been around for a long time in a wide range of optical industries and are an actual manufacturer of optics. Vortex simply places orders for product with an optical factory and OEMs product. How long Vortex will be around remains to be seen… so a 'lifetime' warranty may not be all that meaningful, optical sellers come and go. Actual optical manufacturers tend to live longer.
Nice!
Good choice!
Hope it works greatly for ya ! Okay ? Believe me ,..! Believe me,..! lol
Love God Love your channel Thank you brother
I'm building an spr as well trying to decide what scope I want, looking at the sig sauer tango 4 3-12, but the primary arms 4-14 ffp looks tempting
Nikon also has a lifetime warranty. Don't hear much about it, cause people don't need to use it.
It is gonna be a nice build as can't wait to see the progress…
NICE scope ! I really like the BDC reticle. I have this reticle in my Crossfire II, and also my Nikon Prostaff,….super.
William good choice you can't go wrong with any of the two.
Great info brother.
Nice I'm super hype about this build
Makes sense with what you have done thank you for the video.
I got a vortex crossfire ii 3-9×40 on my 308 bolt. it's not enough distance for me, but I love using it. it's clear, bright and for night hunts, its ability to use whatever moonlight there is, is phenomenal.
Awesome choice bro.
good price on the shirt!
should have went with primary arms.
The "Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42mm Riflescope" link doesn't work?
Not really the same type scopes, the Nikon and Vortex. The Nikon has 40 MOA of adjustment versus the Vortex with 80 MOA, and that's a huge difference.
I was looking at all the 2×7 scopes recently and I'd pared down my candidates to the Vortex, Burris, and Weaver. The Vortex was my last choice of the three, but in the end I went with it anyway and mainly because I saw one at a highly attractive price.
Bro stop buying and building AR's save money up and move the hell out of California
warranty
I think this will really be the straw that breaks the back. Maybe not though they'll probably want it like liberal morons.
looks like a great choice
I was wondering what do you expect the total build cost to be minus the optic since we know what that is?
John "Shrek" McPhee says Vortex scopes break most often in his classes than all other scopes combined.
Where do you complain to claim the whole police force and court to be mentally ill even the judge I mean it's only fair. Settles that then don't it, probably not, the morons will still want it and exempt court (the entire court, aka, cops and defence)
Thanks for the detailed decision-making. Can't wait to see the test/review!
First link doesn't work. Enjoyed the video. I like Vortex myself. When are you going to start the build?
Nice! Looking forward to the build.
Nice video. First comment !
