One of the latest handguard designs purpose-built for the popular AR-15 platform is the Midwest Industries Combat Rail. This unique, free-float design is made to offer a range of accessory-attachment options, allowing users to customize their rifle for their unique needs. Each Midwest Combat Rail Handguard is machined entirely from aluminum and features seven rows of M-LOK compatible attachment points. The top of the handguard provides a continuous Picatinny rail for optics and other accessories, and the handguard even offers two separate quick-detach sling sockets that feature an anti-rotation design.

Hey Pauley with Brownells
It's a shame that Midwest Industries stop production of their FDE models.
Out here in the Arizona desert, we have no need for anything other than Multicam Arid or FDE/Coyote Tan. It's currently over 120°F+ and anything in black is outrageously hot right now and a bad idea altogether out here. I measured the temp of an AK and AR left out in the AZ sun for a full day of direct sunlight in July. They reach approx 160°F and barely drop down to 153°F overnight. There is no reprieve.
These revisions seem nice but I've put my G3-ML-FDE handguard through a litany of use and it has yet to shift even the slightest bit. My index marks haven't moved since SIONICS Weapon Systems assembled the upper. Is the barrel nut the same as the Gen 3, meaning that it still requires adhesive for the final assembly? That's my only gripe regarding the use of adhesive, especially in this heat where even the strongest of substances fail.
Keep up the good work my friends.
