In this video we shoot and discuss the brand new CMMG MkW Anvil. This rifle is chambered for the venerable .458 SOCOM and is built to handle the full power that this round is capable of. The Anvil is much more robust than a standard AR-15 action with a larger bolt carrier and bolt plus a much stronger and more accommodating receiver. We hope you enjoy this first look as much as we did, be on the lookout for more in the future with this platform.

  1. Still waiting on that "Big bore engine killer" episode!!!!! That would be awesome, maybe even work your way down in caliber; like what's the weakest cartridge you can stop and engine with? Sounds like a badass video

  2. Thank you for the excellent video and information. I just acquired a Radical Firearms .458socom (looks just like yours here) but I have not shot it yet. I am gathering a few different brands to see what runs best.

  3. Just like the mutant which is an AK built on an AR-15 platform the 458 Socom Anvil is the same exact thing built on an AR-15 platform it is an AR-15 it's not not an AR-15 it is just like every other new caliber that's coming out built for an AR-15 semi-auto platform this frustrates the hell out of me when I hear people like you saying this isn't an AR-15 yes it is it may not be a to 223/556 but it is an AR-15 just a different caliber AR-15

  4. The 458 is an interesting round but the ammo is just to dang expensive. There's nothing a 458 can do that a 308 can't do better, for 1/3 the cost shot to shot. Even 308 rifles can be purchased much cheaper than 458's, the weight of the guns are basically the same, and the 308 guns hold 20 rounds while the 458 guns only hold 10. When you're trying to beef an AR 15 up this much, just move into an AR 10, it's easier and cheaper.
