Hold it by the buffer tube when tightening and it wont turn and cut into the threads.
will a carbine tube/spring work with a mid length 16 inch upper?

Buyer beware for the tube itself. I was building mine today and all was well until I screwed on the castle nut and used a multi-tool and a torque wrench to apply the 40 ft/lbs of torque and when I did that the entire tube turned, I was like "wth is going on", I took it back apart and come to find out that the nub on the end plate had dug into the threads on the tube due to the tube turning. Seems to be a very weak metal. I'll be taking it back to the store and getting a better quality tube.

Nice video, kb32, I am in the mist of a 20" barrel build and am in limbo on what buffer , buffer spring to use. I want to go with an adjustable stock tube.
You have to be careful because a lot of them say mil spec but they aren't because they're made from 6061 instead of 7075!

brother you should check out PSA Defender lower parts kits the trigger is pretty decent for the little bit of extra money I think it's on sale $62 with the Magpul grip and Trigger guard which is pretty solid considering if you bought the group in the trigger guard be looking at at least twenty bucks
