How should I test the CMMG Mk3 DTR2? Teaser Video for Patreon & YouTube

Here’s the newest rifle for testing: it’s a CMMG Mk3 DTR2 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Start with a custom AR-10-style rifle, add a heavy 24″ stainless steel barrel, and cap the ends with a muzzle brake and a Magpul PRS Gen3 buttstock. I expect great precision from it.

So what should we do to test this rifle? We’ve performed some fun tests in the past, shooting eggs, clay pigeons, and steel. I want to run some tests that emphasize the accuracy of the rifle and the speed of recovery between shots. Got any fun ideas?

  1. That's one sweet looking rifle man can't wait to see how it shoots! Do you think you could maybe do a video on how to build/assemble an AR-15? I don't own one yet, and I want to pick up a stripped lower but I don't really know what I need tools wise and how to go about putting it together. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos; and I can't wait for the next one!

  2. That's a beauty. Not plane Jane to me. Ok, how about a moving target at 600 meters. Like a gong half body silhouette on a cable sliding across the range with only a 5 second view in open. Or a half body gong on a pendulum that only allows the target in view while it is swinging.

  3. How about using mad minute to see how much better modern rifles are for laying down accurate suppressive fire than the WWI/WWII kit? Start with the standard for .303 (Bloke on the Range has vids on this) then push out the range and shrink the time for getting the required hits.

  4. Excellent looking rifle man, so I’m not sure if I’ve never noticed but is this the first time you have introduced yourself? I have yet to do that. No real reason but I’m wondering if you had recently decided to do so and if there was a previous reason you haven’t?
