30,000 YouTube viewers have subscribed to the Social Regressive channel! Thank you for your enthusiasm. Now let’s see what the future holds for The Social Regressive!

First, keep your eyes peeled for a series of videos showing off the capabilities of the CMMG Mk3 DTR2. It’s a heavy semiauto rifle based on the AR-10, and in this case chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor. With my handloads it shoots less than 1/2 MOA groups, and we’re proving its excellence by shooting moving targets, conquering both 1,000 yards and a mile, and later we’ll start hunting hogs and coyotes with night vision and thermal scopes from Night Optics.

We have a new project rifle on the bench. This time we’re building a Savage 12FV in 6.5 Creedmoor into a long-range masterpiece while maintaining a reasonable budget. This rifle will provide an opportunity to test several scopes from SWFA, Nikon, and others. We even have a mystery stock on the way.

I still plan to test the Ruger 10/22 Takedown, Marlin Papoose, and Henry AR-7 Survival rifle.

Thanks again for subscribing! Make sure you watch for the upcoming videos!

  1. I have been looking forward to this video. I have a 12FV in 308 and if it does what i think it can do i will be very pleased. So far it has shown the signs it can shoot. I have narrowed on set of loads down that i hope to find the "one" i am looking for within.

Anyhow it was your old video that narrowed my search down when looking for a bench gun.

I have done nothing to mine other than opening the barrel channel a tad more, adjusting the accutrigger to my liking, and torquing the factory stock. Since i have gotten a few sub MOA groups already i feel confident the right load will repeatedly give me the accuracy goal i was looking for. If it doesn't, i may need a stock. Maybe bed it. Time will tell.

Again thanks and i hope you do better with this 12 FV in 6.5 than what your older 12 FV did in 243.

  2. I have a Tikka Tac a1, Bergara HMR, Savage 12 LRP and a Savage 12 FV and all are in 6.5 CM. planned on trying to turn it into a gun like my others (better stock, trigger, bedded etc etc. turns out it don’t need a dang thing. Sadly/ happily the Savage 12 FV shoots better than any of them. Don’t get me wrong I am more proud of the other rifles but the 12 FV is a bug holing laser beam. I have owned 7-8 of the 12 FVs. Not all of them have been as accurate as this one. I will never sell this rifle until the barrel gives up accuracy.

  3. The Challenge part of the series sounds very interesting also would you consider putting a MDT stock on that Savage. And maybe giving away that Savage rifle when it's done to one of your subscribers. Keep up the good work. 1st Timothy 3:16

  4. Super interested in your results with that savage. I have the .223 12fv and I shoot half minute (consistently) groups with regular old perfecta which is wild. It seems like a ridiculously accurate rifle that I scored for 219.00 after the rebate. It's quite heavy for .223 which I like, and I'd like to know if that 6.5 is worth it.

  5. Just started handloading for my sav. 12fv 6.5cm and achieved .375" 100yd 5 shot groups i was super stoked! Its all factory with the 10×42 swfa moa reticle. Out of the box freakin ridiculous!
