Both of these optics are great just for the record but Holosun 510c has the EO Tech 512 beat in a number of areas. These two optics do use DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES. The Holosun 510c is loaded with features that a lot of paying customers desire from an optic and it is all at lower price point compared to the EO Tech 512. EO Tech is a tried and true company that has proven its optics work all over the world. What do you guys think?

  1. Eotech is just a completely different type of optic. Holographics are different than your average red dot. One BIG thing with eotechs, idk about the one in the video but the (E)XPS series has some of the absolute least parallax shift of any optic on the market even when compared to holosun and trijicon and aimpoint. There are actually a lot of small details with EoTechs that a lot of people skim over just because its not basic things. Holosuns are great. But EoTechs have their reasons for being how they are as well.

  2. The Eotech has a 1 MOA dot. Hey if your to lazy to change 🔋 that's on you, but the 512 you can find the 🔋 all over the world even in the middle of no where. I'll take the Eotech after all it has proven itself. Oh and the price point for that HOLOSUN is way more than 300

  3. I feel like Holosun is bridging the gap between the cost effective Vortex models and high end Trijicon optics very well. They provide a lot of options for a lot of budget levels and definitely provide huge value (which it seems is what most people want these days – "whats the best budget/bang for your buck _____"). I am sold and have seen others catch on as well

  4. I was one of the people that returned my Eotech when L3 lost their lawsuit to the Department of Defense for false testing results. Extreme drifts from humidity, heat, and cold…in other words, it's a shitty optic. I am sure the newer ones corrected that, but when a company decides to put out a product and sell it to the military with fake testing, that just doesn't fly with me. I will never own another optic from them period. I do have multiple holosuns and love them. I will be getting the 510c for my AR pistol next.

  5. Eotec looks so cool but the performance is shocking in the market as it is today. They seem to be living on their cool reputation and seem to think that is enough. Shame really for everyone, the people who like their products and them because they should be market leaders.

  6. I own the 510c. Eotech will never get my business. Or any other big name for that matter. Holosun is absolutely phenomenal. It has features that other companies just don't have and at a great price. So satisfied.

  7. Each has their pros and cons. Yes, the Holosun is cheaper, but the glass isn’t as clear and is made in China. Eotech is crystal clear, proven in combat and made in USA. Complaining about Eotech’s battery life is waste of time and energy. 1K hours is plenty! Just don’t forget to turn your optic off! Besides, it has auto shutoff. The Holosun’s shake and wake feature is something I wish my Eotech had, tho.

  8. If I was not mistaken, the 512 first came out in 2004 and it almost 15 year old, it was way ahead in technology at the time. Comparing it with the brand new 510C is like comparing an old Ferrari 430 to a brand new Corvette. Holographic sights is not a single laser beam reflected by the glass like most reflex sights is. Comparing these two, in my opinion are like pointless.

  9. Just a couple of points: The Eotech 512 is a holographic optic (like the Vortex AMG UH-1) while the Holosun HS510C is an Open Reflex sight (like the Trijicon RMR.) The Eotech does have one other advantage, which is that when using a magnifier (3X) the reticle is not magnified, and remains at it's original size, while the Holosun, and nearly any other tube or reflex red dot will magnify the reticle or dot as well. I use the FDE Holosun HE510C-GR Elite, myself and love it, too.

  10. I used EOTech in the military and have seen them broken in combat, not just stop working but physically broken. Currently have a Holosun HS510C on a home defense/CQ SBR and an EOTech 512 on another. With about 5000 rounds through each, I much prefer the HS510C. IMHO the reticles are sharper and more responsive to changes in ambient lighting. Also you should note that the HS510C has a titanium protective shell as opposed to aluminum.

  11. Every rifle I own (many) that has a red dot, now sports a Holosun of one sort or another. Holosun is literally the BEST value there is in optics today… At least 2 of them are more than 3 yrs old and i have NEVER had one issue with any of them. If you can find it, I would also suggest looking at the version with the acss reticle from primary arms. I have one and with magnification its a completely viable option out to 400yds with it's built in bds reticle (acss). 5yrs ago, i would have said, either eotech or aimpoint or nothing… Today I say unless your being deployed to the middle east tomorrow and absolutely need a battle tested and proven optic (I would suggest an aimpoint over eotech all day), then get 2 holosuns instead of one of the big names. Holosuns are legit!

  12. Eotech is just an old optic wishing it was still king of the market. Like Surefire, they've refused to adapt to the influx of lower priced, Chinese products that are still pretty dang good. They're pining for the old days when it was them or nothing instead of adapting. Their bad. Holosun anyday.

  13. I have both and really like my eotech. It was my first red dot and still working strong 7 years later. That being said…. holosun is my new optic of choice. You just can’t beat them in a red dot. I’m thoroughly impressed with them in all aspects. I have four of them now and can’t see buying another aimpoint or eotech.

  14. Some positives about the Eotech that the Holosun doesn't have: 1. the glass/lenses on the Eotech is clear 2. it is non reflective from the front, 3. in the dark it doesn't give off a light signature from the front at normal low light brightnesses, 4. when sun is behind you it doesn't reflect a red lens glare back at you, 5. The lighting element of the Eotech is inside the unit and therefore the projection of the sight won't be blocked by something falling into or on the optic.

Aside from glass clarity, and the projector being internal, the HS510C is better.

With that said my top choice for this type of a red dot is a DI Optical EG1C. It has the best/clearest glass, it is super rugged, best mounting system and positive controls that are easy to use with gloves on.

    I own an Eotech 516, Holosun HS510C and a DI Optical EG1C.

  15. You know that the holosun isn't a holographic sight tight? That's why it's able to reach 50,000 hours..so besides the reticle both having circle-dot they are nothing alike. Completely different tech. The crispness of the holosun is because it led tech like aimpoint. Sorry but you're comparing apples and oranges

  16. The holosun has the worst flaw ever. The projector for the reticle is exposed. I had one and literally if it rains too hard the reticle is unusable. The water bends the laser. Mud…dirt…ect. Wont work. I liked some things about it but that was just way too stupid. Thats exaxtly why they made an updated version that has the vortex huey shape, but its good for plinking ect
