lol…i would just go get an ak and call it good =)
Come on now, no need for name calling. Last week I went to the range and put at least 500 rounds through my DPMS AR-15 which is a DGI gun. And when I got home it took maybe ten minuets to clean every piece of that gun, all the way down to the Saturday pin. Also, why would you be cleaning your magazines they would have to be loaded with dirt to cause a malfunction. For normal civilian use that's not going to happen.
You're a moron, that's all I have to say! and you have obviously never ever served in a military unit!
LMFAO at hours cleaning!!! It takes less time cleaning the simpler DGI upper then it does a piston gun. give me a break your making it sound like DGI guns just magically produce more carbon. A piston gun just fouls in a different, less crucial, spot.
@svt283 You have obviously not fired, stripped or cleaned a gas piston designed rifle. The inside of the upper receiver is not fouled with carbon like on the infamous direct impingement gas system. The upper therefor needs very little cleaning if any at all and it's merely the barrel and chamber that needs attention. The bolt, bolt carrier and upper receiver needs just to be wiped off and lubricated and you're done. With the a DI upper you will spend hours cleaning your upper and magazines.
How mush cleaner is up upper now?
I've shot over 1000 rounds flawlessly with my AR that has the CMMG piston, only thing I've done is add a little lube to the bolt. the part of the AR/M-16 that makes it jam a lot more than an AK is the bolt with the lugs that have to fit into the barrell extension then twist to lock. Any sand or powder or brass shavings and you're toast. I have both and the AR is more accurate but for SHTF AK is the way to go- much more reliable and the 7.62×39 is much more deadly. Sorry American Pride.
i dont know much about guns but this is converting the old ar 15 gas system to the 416 and masada gas piston system so it can shoot on any terrain?
How would this conversion stand up to combat?
You all feel that cleaning the gas piston system in under a minute is stupid because you need to use tools you probably already have? I remember taking 10 minutes with pipe cleaners trying to clean the gas tube to get it close to this clean. Whatever makes you feel good.
I love how people convert to a piston that is not needed, they tout how easy it is to maintain, yet you need 17 tools, 3 liquids, and all kinds of BS. Oh yeah, and a stick.
@skyungjae Really! I'm planning to get this kit for my 7.62×39 upper. I'll check out their web site. Thanks!
I didn't like this particular system either. CMMG has made major updates to their design though.
That's odd. Most testimonials and GP companies (particularly short stroke) claim lower recoil and better follow up shots. Maybe you're confusing slower cycle of operation with recoil?
Why not?
he didn't check it visibly and or physically.
