700 Yards, Easy: CMMG Mk3 DRT2 in 6.5 Creedmoor

The new CMMG Mk3 in 6.5 Creedmoor is an awesome AR-10. After dialing things in and getting my data in line, hitting at 300, 500, and even 700 yards was easy to do repeatedly. I have no doubt this gun can do better, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to do it. Thanks to CMMG for loaning me this rifle, and for providing most of the ammo.

  1. I am sorry, but I was taught to adjust the scope when you consistently overshoot. I see a lot of people modifying their hold using the reticle and I am not a big fan of that. Cost wise, this weapon isn't that much different than your typical M1A super match. or a comparable M21. in .308 . The weapon is a bargain.

  2. Someone has to say this, and I encourage you all to spread the word across youtube. Shooting off lead sleads and the like is so lame. Get a Harris or an Atlas and a rear squeeze bag and don't be "this guy".

  3. Nice job, but completely wasted your time shooting 120gr bullets. The 6.5 Creedmoor shines because of its high BC compared to .308 for the same weight bullet.

Stick with 140+gr bullets, and you're golden 😉

  4. I wasn't much of a bolt action shooter, didn't own one, then purchased the RPR in 6.5CM because it was an AR platform and man do I love my RPR- a good purchase. Placed a group of three in the same hole at 100 yards on the first zeroing day. Now I'm hooked on 6.5CM and want to add one into my AR rifles collection, I think this one is going to be it, it looks like it ate all the different brands they fed it with ease and no jamming, just wonder how it does with a suppressor. (?) Any one know?   Thanks
