  1. I am 10-months in with mine mounted on my 300 Blackout. It is beautiful, gets a lot of attention at the range, and performs perfectly. It really shines in outdoor shooting, but range shooting (often poorly illuminated) is fine. I'm going to buy another one and put in on my 300Blk pistol build. Great review.

  2. Nice set of 31's, but why are you wearing your NODs during the day? Compared to your ballistic helmet, and everything else you have on there, the 31's weigh nearly nothing. Are you training your neck to endure something that will never actually happen as a civilian? And no, nothing Vortex comes out with will ever "kill" Eotech. Thermal drift is a non-issue that I guarantee 99.9% of users have never experienced.

  3. When I was stationed up in Alaska we were doing pt one morning in the mountains outside of rich. I ran across a frozen creek and busted through the ice and got my boot wet. My platoon sgt exclaimed “Sgt D has jumped off the bridge men” implying what I did was suicidal. Then made everyone take turns fireman’s carrying me back to the vehicles. 🤷‍♂️

  4. SERE school in Maine. Before the snow hit and we did not get cold weather gear. Just had some gore tex rain/wind gear. Woke up in the middle of the night in my shitty little lean to, or whatever I half assed that night, because my feet were iced. Kept trying to tuck them in. Happened 3-4 times. Woke up next morning and all our wet gear that we left out to dry was frozen solid. Life sucked that day. Got cold and wet, everyone moving slow. It felt near impossible to get a fire going. Day light was minimal. We had a yeoman (not sure why she was there) that all I can remember is we are all trying to get a fire going and she is just standing there shivering and getting yelled at by an Army O that was there and she just tipped over. Boom. Basically frozen solid lol had to come out of theatre with a 4wheeler and evac her. Probably got the silver bullet.

Speaking of silver bullet. Got one in BUD/s. Bay swims got a little chilly. No shame. Get back into the fray. (Note: I do not claim to be a SEAL, nor did I grad, hooyah 364! Should have never dropped 🙁

  5. We had I guy at ITX in early 2017 go into hypothermic shock and have a seizure at the mout town up in the mountains 30 minutes after we were all forced to take off all out warming layers because "we're going to be moving around you'll heat stroke if you don't"

  6. I was on a field ex this January in Quebec. Was a pouring freezing rain for two days at around -4°C and then dropped to about -30°C in the span of about 6 hours and stayed that way for the next two days. I slept about 3 hours over those 4 days and my jacket was a semi-solid sheath of misery that held the shape of my body once removed.

  7. Used to spend winter nights outside when I was in the Boy Scouts to see who could have the coldest accumulated temp over a season. One winter made it to -198 with -62 in a single night.
