  1. Ive found the tlr-1 hL is to bright for home defense when you light it up inside a closed room you can’t see what your pointing out that’s how bright it is. For outside or for a long gun it would be perfect but for home defense I went with the standard tlr-1 which is 500 lumens I believe

  2. I have owned the surefire x300 for years and can't say enough about the quality. It is very bright and has a really nice focused beam. Worth every penny in my opinion.

  3. I dont need all those lumens close up, and if i need to spot something further put, obvipusly you go with a hand held flash light. Im going with quality to put on my p226.

  4. good vid
what do users say about durability – I am just starting to shop for the Streamlight.

those lights are going to take a beating if you practice with the light mounted.
and how about that extra weight forward, does is dampen recoil or move bal forward so that the gun does not feel like it usually does – not as lively and pointable. all that may not make a difference cause you need the light no mater what. Just my thoughts.

  5. Basically, Stream light & Surefire are both top quality lights. Surefire will cost almost double the cost of Stream light and will have a lot less lumens, and will have a bigger footprint on the firearm…it's a no brainer unless your a brand snob.

  6. when the light sticks out like on the surefire it makes the gun much more difficult to conceal and that is a big concern for me as well as many other's, surefire needs to make one for compact size gun's.

  7. love love love my tlr 1 hl in fde! its so bright that if you point the light at a white ceiling it will literally illuminate an entire room! threw it on my m&p m2.0 .40 5" fde and fits, looks great. great review.

  8. Awesome, I been doing a lot of research on them also myself. The reason I just purchased the Streamlight TLR-1 HL 800 is because it has prove reliability, has more lumens now with the new version, and the profile doesn't stick out so far. I carry appendix and I don't want the light rubbing/poking into my legs when I sit down or walk up stairs, yet the profile is enough to help the gun from getting pushed out of battery in a close contact fight. Jared Reston (google him) used his Glock 22 and the Streamlight TLR-1 when he got in his gunfight, he used the Streamlight to press into the guys head as a stand off from the muzzle and pressed off 3 rounds and it worked fine. Only thing I don't like about the Streamlight is the Strobe feature. I wish that didn't exist.

  9. Great video but I have to say I have both brands of light I think both are great yes one is more expensive Than the other both they will do the job is a matter of how much money you want to put in you're weapon and if you are really going to use it let's be real we are in the civilian world you don't need all that expensive equipment because at the end of the day you're not even going to use it the way it supposed to be use in my personal experience if you're in the military yes I will go with surefire no question about it but if you're a civilian that you going to use it for the house or personal protection i will go whit the streamlight but that's my personal opinion πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  10. I think Surefire is WAY over priced and over rated. Yeah they were great 10+ years ago when I was in Iraq and used them. I bought the TLR-1 HL brand new on eBay for $123.00 for 800Lumens. I looked everywhere in stores and online comparing prices and value for the money, and every time it was the Streamlight. Brighter and wider beam for identifying if someone has a weapon from their head to their feet, which is very important. I want to see the persons whole body not just their face or torso. I live in the country and this light is awesome!!!!!! Semper Fi

  11. My local gun shop is selling both versions of the SF x300u for $219. For that price difference I'd just save up and get Surefire! Lifetime warranty and proven reliability. I've got 4 lights from them and couldn't be happier!
