My thoughts on the Nikon Prostaff BDC scope!

This is my Nikon prostaff BDC 3x9x40 that I picked up about 8 months ago. I have been super pleased with its clearness and solid feel. Since zeroing this scope it has been shot quite a few times and it seems to be holding zero very well. I have also used Nikon‘s website to calculate my holds for the reticle I chose for my Remington 770 chambered in .270. With the Nikon BDC I have holds from my zero at 100yrds out to 632yrds at 9x magnification. To have a scope with that much range in holds without having to adjust zero or “Dope”, is just awesome to me. I wanted to give you guys a look at it and show you all the other reticles Nikon has to offer. I hope you enjoy this vid and if you do take a shot at that thumbs up button. Thanks for watching See ya on the next one!!

  1. not really wanting to shout yet NIKON HAS THE WORST RETURN POLICY i have ever had the misfortune to have to REPEATEDLY use.
i started out with a scope that broke. they sent me a ?NEW? one that also broke, then they sent me back the same scope with the manifest sheet showing NO REPAIRS were even attempted, then i sent them back the scope and they sent me a 3-9-40 scope that was a Bdc for a .22. IT TOOK 3 YEARS TO get a working scope put back on my rifle that was a bdc like i shipped them in the first place.
record your conversations so you can play the other damn supervisors words right back at them and NEVER not one apology for sending the broken scope back to me without any work even being attempted.

  2. Hi , I noticed at the 5 minute mark of your video, ( if i understand you correctly), a gun is not shooting the same place when using the 3X power as it is when set at 9Xpower?
So are you saying that on any regular rifle scope , if I sighted it in dead on at 200 yards using 3 power but when i turn the power up to 7-8-9 at 200 yards it will be shooting differently?
    Thanks

  3. Just put a Nikon Buckmaster BDC 4-12 on my AR-10. Honestly, it was not my first choice, but after mounting it, zeroing it, and using the Spot On app, I've got to say I'm pretty impressed with it thus far.

  4. Good Video, I just tried one out. I have some shooting footage with it on My Channel. It was a clear optic with good Eye Relief. The only complaints I have was I didn't get an inch of change for 4 clicks at 100 yards. Also The BDC didn't match at 200 Yards measured. All in all though for an inexpensive Scope it was not too bad. Good Video, I enjoyed it.

  5. Good job on the video NCShooter, don't listen to all the negatives people post.  There is always people out there who is financially capable of buying more expensive and better scopes out there.  Me and you got to buy what we can afford! Good luck shooting, I'm thinking of putting one of those on my AR-15.

  6. Thanks for this vid, just great information here. You understand the scope perfectly. Just needed a refresher as I haven't shot mine in over a year or so. Time to hit the range and zero her in again! I think Nikon recommends to sight this scope in at 100yd if I'm not mistaken. Such an awesome scope for the price, possibly the best deal out there. Way overkill on my 10/22, but that's where she sits most of the time :p

  7. I just bought mine on clearance at Wally World for $80. its super nice except the fact the reticule has a squiggly line at the very top that my eye wont stop bugging out trying to focus on.

  8. +NCshooter1213 what about short range focus? focus sharp at 25 yards? its a good scope for bird hunting between 25 yards a 75 yards?  or do you recommend the EFR version in that case.

  9. It's been a while since I first watched this video, back then I was in the market for a scope, and to make a story short now I own 3 Nikon scopes, all with the BDC reticule. I can now go to the range or to hunt and I know that if everything else is good I will do very good with any of my rifles, I also noticed my stress level has gone down a lot. I thank you for making this video and keeping it simple. I Hope all goes well with your family.
