  1. Seems they have done all the upgrades for the buyer with a great trigger and barrel on the rifle. The round is interesting. Please don't tempt me to get into long range shooting!!! I've spent enough!

    Nice video Sootch!

  2. From other videos and testing Im gunna say CMMG sent you a cherry picked rifle. No one else is getting the accuracy it claims. Even JP said its not getting up to par for their supermatch stamp of approval

  3. The most important question though is what is the practical purpose of this round? For distance and a punch out of your ar, 6.5 Grendel is the answer. .224 is a great target round…but would you ever use it for something else?

  4. Excellent cartridge, excellent ballistics! It just might be the next go-to long range sniper in my arsenal, whether a CMMG Mk4 or something else. I've been interested in the .224 Valkyrie for several months now, thanks.

Another thing, I installed a Geissele SSA-E on my 16" 1:7 M4 a a few years ago. Completely changed the characteristics of the firearm. Fantastic trigger, light and crisp. CMMG made a great choice putting it on this rifle.

Thanks again, Sootch. Love your videos, brother.

  5. According Alexander Arm's Chart with a 19.4" barrel the 6.5 grendel Lapua 123 g scenar has -226.58" drop/energy 441 pound/1270 fps/wind drift=??? at 1000 yard. The Valkyrie sound good but Grendel is Still the KING for me.

  6. I'd really need to shoot it and handle it. I'm just wondering if at that weight and length if an AR-10 in a 6mm cartridge wouldn't be better after considering application of the rifle. A couple extra pounds and a good brake or can and the recoil difference is a wash.

  7. So can anyone tell me if I built the 224 Valkyrie with a 1/12 or 1/0 twist barrel and loaded it with 40 or 45 gr bullet would I have a 22-250 in a AR 15 platform could I get 4000 + fps out of this case with a little bullet ( for prairie dogs of course )

  8. Great vids man! Thanks! Im british so I have to live vicariously, as far as my interest in weapons goes. You and you're gun channel colleagues make my hobby cheap and legal 😉

  9. Can you shoot the 25-45 out to 1000 yards? I'm not sure what your long distance shooting experience is but it seems like once this round was zeroes you could land them time and time again. I am wondering if the 25-45 is as easy / user friendly!

  10. Seems awesome. But I'm just now getting into the 6.5 creedmoor which I have been reloading for a few years now. I am a huge 308 fan, and I just can't justify all these fancy calibers yet. 6.5 creedmoor is great. I have a savage ba stealth. Awesome gun with great accuracy. But for SHTF I still think 308 is the way to go.

  11. Cmmg is garbage. Anything to save a buck. No one with decent gun knowledge wants to pay out the ass for a gun with 416 or 4140 steel. Psa has better specs(416r or 4150cmv) at a third the price
