Streamlight TLR-2 vs TLR-2 HLG

I have the HLG. In doors I just use the green laser setting (its bright enough that it lights up the entire room at night) and I save the light for outdoors

Great review, that was awesome to see the red/green dot comparison. Seems to me then that the ideal setup would be to have a high/low setting on the high output version. I'd say that it's actually a little shocking that they didn't think of that.

I was contemplating getting the HLG but after this very well done review I'm gonna get the red laser one.

I'm trying to decide between the TLR-2 and TLR-2 HL, do you still have the same opinion that the HL is too much room clearings? The only reason I'd use the laser is for shield work, which is a huge benefit.

Thanks for this video. Recently purchased a TLR-2 and was kicking myself for not springing for the HL version instead. Now that I see the HL is too much light for indoors I am much happier with my decision. My only application will be home defense.

You bought a new one! But sent the old one in. Lol 😂

Stream light has excellent customer service. I own several. The HL G is my fav.

Would your department allow you to upgrade to the ALS holster from Safariland? I think it’s far superior to their SLS style for several reasons. Retention being the best advantage, obviously. But I noticed you said your firearm wouldn’t fit in your holster without the light. The ALS will hold a firearm without a light, even a light-bearing model.

It seems like the regular one would be just fine or preferred for home defense.

Which duty holster do you use with the TLR-2? I’m love my Safariland ALS holster but can’t find it for that light with my Glock 22

Have you ever experienced any malfunctions with the TLR lights on .40 glocks? I've seen a G23 malfunction every two rounds with a TLR light but multiple G22's have functioned flawlessly.
