My new official favorite EDC light, the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA. It runs off a single 3 Volt battery or a single AA battery. It is awesome!!!

Streamlight is made in u.s.a. like Surefire?
Man killing me here. Now I have to buy this model. I already have ,as follows..strion. double clutch, stylus, pro tac aaa, micro stream usb, and two stylus pros. My wife is gonna kill me. But all streamlight products are the best. I always have the brightest lights camping or at work. People ask what kind is that is so bright . If only people knew. They would never buy a cheap flashlight again. Good review . Have a good day.
If you plan on using these for actual tactical use, I would cut some felt sleeves for when you need to throw the AAs in, that way they don't rattle inside because they likely will, maybe the single cell not having the pivot.point created by two cells meeting and maybe the pressure holds tighter then the with two 2L-x I experienced it with, but the two smaller cr123s would rattle in the 18650 sized tube. I used some stiff thin felt fabric about a 16th" and it holds em more snugly and gives a cushion that deaden the rattle. Cant be helped otherwise, an unavoidable condition when using two different sized batteries in one tube. Streamlights are the absolute best, the new microstream usb is a perfect pocket workhorse and the 2Lx I just picked up is wicked awesome.
“Just enough sticking out Incase you wanna blind someone and bang them“ haha sorry idk why that cracked me up 😂 thanks for the review man I’m going to order the 1l-1aa
I've owned this flashlight for about a year, yet I never knew it excepted AA batteries…. The only thing I didn't like about this flashlight was the battery type (I don't hate Cr123 like some people, they are just harder to get)
Wow this video made my day 👍👍
I'm sold! Once you showed the runtime for a rechargeable battery! Throw an eneloop pro in there and you're good to go! Its always good to have variety. I have the streamlight 2L-X and primarily use an 18650 in it. But this little guy is definitely EDC worthy, thanks for the review!
Nice video with great information, keep it up. Sold me, mine was $41 to my door.
From my experience, streamlight develops a tendency to "flicker" over time….
I have an olight M1X 1000 lumen but the 1l-1aa is my edc.
you should use 14500 lithium ion rechargeable and more voltage 3.7
Thx from France
I'm NOT an expert on flashlights, lumens, etc. but I've owned a lot of quality lights like Surefires, and this 1L is probably the best light I've ever carried (for my needs). I also got the 2L-X for my nightstand and "bug out bag" 500 lumens with the 18650 will definitely disorient a BG. I may get one for my car too. Yes, I'm addicted to gadgets 🙂
Good review – thanks!
I also have this light. The ability to take a CR-123 and an AA battery make this a superb travel light or survival light. Hopefully, it will last as long as my 10-year-old Streamlight 1L (which I use almost daily).
Just bought one of the lights and love it so far. It's the 3rd streamlight I've bought and I'm sure I'll be pleased. Good video I didn't know how to use the AA until now!
One click of the power button and its full power, 2 clicks flash/strobe, 3 clicks and its 1/2 power.
I dont like 123s because everytime I go to use it, its dead….AA is always there. not sure why surefire and streamlight both die without engaging
also clips on a ball cap real easy!
Been carrying the Protac 2L (which is 350 lumen now) for a couple years now and it has been a tank. It is just ever so slightly longer than that 1L-AA… But I'm having a kydex magazine/flashlight holder made for it.
Thank you for the thorough review. It's hard to find one nowadays that's kept within a decent time limit.
"In case you wanna blind someone and then bang them."
What kinda kinky cosplay shit are you into?
Can you run NIMHs in that light? Like Eneloops etc?
How's the light holding up thinking about buying this one unless you no a better one you can suggest…
It helps if you oil the treads of the flashlight parts. 🙂
how does the aa battery fit does it rattle or stay tight?
Would you say this is tough enough for a weapon light on an ar15?
The protac 2aa puts out 155 lumens. I thought the 1aa does very close to that. you must not have looked at the Alkaline lights in a while.
