Could use possibly use stand AAA batteries as back up option?
I was searching to see if it was just me. The mode switch on this light is terrible. I just opened mine up after getting it in the mail and wanted to throw it out the window within 5 minutes. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. Even if I push fast it only switches maybe every 10 or more times I try. I had a protac 1AAA and I don’t remember ever having a problem switching between settings. Thinking about returning it.
Just recieved my microstream usb,and i agree the double-click to get to high is a little annoying, you have to time it just right(quickly). However,i do own 2 of the C4 versions with the 10440 battery upgrade, and they are actually a little brighter with a better hotspot. I will probably carry the usb, simply because it lasts longer and can charge pretty much anywhere. But I would like to see future models address the wonky double click,as i use bright more often then low. I also noticed the battery in the usb is a regular 10440 li-ion battery such as the after-market ones i purchased for the C4’s,although the usb battery is a tad bit longer. Very Nice review sir.
Just received mine and I found if you actually double click the tail button slower you'll activate the high-output.
I've been waiting for this light since they announced it and, after finally receiving it, agree with you about the high/low activation. I messaged Streamlight about user programming and was told to call them, but I haven't had a chance to yet
Can you throw a 600mah 10440 battery in there and charge it? Any problems doing so? Is the factory battery protected?
Ive had a regular microstream with 10440 for over a year now with no failures. Ive used it at times until completely draining the battery, about 20-30mins strait. It does get hot, but has not damaged the light. I wish the regular version had a low since 20mins is nothing to rely on.
