I had one go bad and Nikon did stand behind it even without a receipt. I was out that rifle for the last couple weeks of the season though because I didn't have an extra scope. Luckily I had others to use but the day it happened I wasn't happy. It fogged internally in the middle of the scope, I could see the edges sort of but it was all fog in the middle. It was worthless to hunt with and I was done for that day.
It's the first scope I've ever had fog internally and that includes several simmons 44 mag scopes which is really a cheap scope. I've had Leupolds (Vx-1) and Burris and simmons. I've ever had old time off brands that didn't really hold zero so well but they still didn't fog internally. I actually bought a second pro staff and it went all last season without fogging. I got the replacement one back and haven't tried it but I assume it's OK. Probably a fluke.
It's the clearest scope I've used for the money. The only thing more clear in the under $200 range I've tried is the VX-1. But this is clearer than Fullfield II and simmons for sure.

i have this BDC scope on 3 rifles cause it is sooo clear n good. i can buy anything i want but except for a M&P target bull bbl. ar which sports a Nikon M-223. but on a really tricked out .308 Savage, x39 Vepr, x39 Saiga these prostaff 3×9 bdc are simply the best n not about the money $179.00 they are soo clear.

I got tbis for my ruger american, can anybody tell me what affordable rings would fit? Ive already bought to different ones and they dont fuckin fit!!
