  1. Nice job making it w/ the first review on these. A few questions:

1: Any accuracy testing at all? If so, how'd it perform w/ what ammo?
2: Is the gas block pinned or set screwed:
3: Did the rail and grip bolts have any thread-locker applied to them at all?
4: What weight was the buffer?
5: How was the ejection w/ the suppressor mounted? Did it seem over gassed?

Thanks! Very interested in this line. Looking very hard at that same upper w/ the CHF barrel.

  2. Great review. Thanks. I just bought a blem PSA AR for $499. Extremely happy with it and I couldn’t even find the blemish. For another $500 I added a weapon light, sling, Magpul stock and grip and a Holosun red dot. And a two-stage trigger.

  3. I love the Aero comparison. Guy said for $1000-$1200 Aero is the best. That's ridiculous, the Aero upper and lower you get for that price is milspec. If you add all the aftermarket parts they total a few hundred dollars. I bought my upper and lower separate and only paid $750 before taxes. So a rifle that is over $500 cheaper with nearly $300 of aftermarket parts on it. There is zero comparison between these two rifles. Milspec will never stand up to a civilian level custom straight out of the box.

  4. Not when iwi Zion exists. You can assemble aero lower with bcm or SOLGW or DD or geissele for 1-1200 which is far superior too. But for off the rack it seems to be solid. I’ve just never owned an in spec PSA rifle

  5. the mags are made by Amend2, and the stock and grip are made by THRIL, same company that makes the excellent AKV and AK-103 mags for PSA.
What I'd really like to see someone cover is that 13.7" P&W with the FSB and extended quad rail. It looks like it might not be a drop in handguard, but a free float 2 piece quad almost?

Edit, the Mag might actually be a THRIL PMX magazine.

  6. I would argue a Aero lower and DD is still the best 1k/1.2k build. The PSA mag eh ($8 gen 2 Pmag would be better), the grip and stock eh. Aero SL with MOE gip lower is 250 with free shipping on sale. The uppers, BCG we ll have to see. But out of the box? Better than anyone else. Just have to see if it is as bad as their AKs and Jakl line when they came out. Time will tell

  7. Eh… not bad. The thing to remember about companies like PSA is you should check the torque specs, make sure the gas block is lined up correctly, stuff like that and you should be g2g.

That's something most people who own AR15s should look out for just in general. Knowing your weapon system and being able to perform maintenance is really useful.

The quality of parts seems legit. The quality of how it's put together can be a different story. Not a big deal to me but to a new AR15 shooter they may get a bad taste in the mouth.

  8. I would like to see a side by side comparison to a Son's of Liberty Gunworks 13.7 pin and weld AR. I think that's the closest direct competitor to this new Sabre series from PSA. But the PSA is half the price. I've got a couple of the budget PSA AR build kits in the safe already but might be adding one of these guys soon.
