I test ten full size lights to the breaking point for vibration, thermal regulation, salt water immersion, g-force, and impact. One light (almost) survives.

Modlite is just gunstagrammer hype.
wow, great video and torture test, well done! Honestly the winner is the Thrunite TW10, the price point, durability, function. Prior to the 9th drop, it was the last fully functioning light. While the modlite worked as a flashlight it had lost its mounting, that notch sheering off is a catastrophic failure of design. The TW10's rechargeable function is interesting too, because of its cheap price instead of replacing batteries when it loses charge you could literally just buy 3 or 4 of these and physically swap the light out in the field. I just bought one recently, having never heard of it prior and started searching youtube for reviews. I feel pretty good about that purchase now and may grab a few more just b/c its only 40 bucks and clearly has awesome durability!
Drop test is just stupid. So if one light lands bezel first on a rock and breaks its lens it fails vs one that lands flat on the body it passes. The rest was great but the drop test was useless.
Pretty sure the exposed metal of the Olight's magnetic charging system interacted with the salt in the water to drain its battery as salt in water aids conductivity, since its mean to charge not release energy maybe that fried it.
Would have liked to see the nightsticks in the drop tests. I don’t have salt water around me to worry about
Love the info here. I just wish you were able to test a new one for each test. It would give better data
Modlite needs to fix their pistol light asap
I was expecting the pl350 to come in first, followed by x300 then tlr1.
Im happy to say I was wrong! I’m buying TLR 1 HL
Surefire works great of course, but can we stop worshipping their reliability? At least compared to other good brands like Streamlight?
I bought an X300U because of the hype. I didnt like it at all, the controls alone are enough for me to never touch another. I sold it and got a TLR 1 HL and I like it MUCH better. The controls are perfect
As a reviewer myself, I know how much time and effort (and money) went into this video. Phenomenal job. Thank you for the no BS data that was completely unbiased, and actually logically collected.
Makes a big difference on the drop test how they hit the ground.
I hope the amount of money you lost is made up for in holsters. I’m gonna buy at least one.
really good products man took alot of beating from me still work
ALL I RUN IS STREAMLIGHTS tlr 1 hl
I'm actually quite interested in what that black spot is on his head.
Cloud defense?
I was expecting olight to fail. They are overrated
I just stumbled upon your channel. Several years ago I bought a TLR-1 HL back when they were new to the market. Mostly went for that because at the time I couldn't afford a Surefire. Now that I am in a position that I could afford one I started looking up reviews and such. I was surprised to find your channel and find out how well the light I already have holds up compared to the Surefire! Thanks for the reviews! Think I'm just going to stick with what I already have now.
Awesome video I have a Streamlight tlr1s that’s has about 25,000 rounds on and it still runs perfect
I’ve had the TLR-1 and the 300x previously. Both really good. I felt like the TLR-1 switch was too sensitive but that was my only compliant. For the money it’s a good one. I don’t like that it’s made in China though.
Can we see this same test but on the popular rifle lights such as the Surefire M600, Modlite 18650, Cloud Defensive REIN and OWL, and the Streamlight Pro Tac
Hello, I am a Korean who enjoys air soft. I know these tactical lights are too much for Airsoft guns. But this is my own self-satisfaction, and I wanted to use something more reliable for my gun. Your review was very helpful, and the quality of the video was high, so I could enjoy watching it even if I didn't know English well. Thank you for your efforts to make a good video, and I would like to purchase Holster from your company someday. 🙂
I have had two O-Light BALDRs fail after 200 rounds. They wont always turn on. Useless if you don't know when it is going to decide to work.
Love your videos
This is a fantastic video and great test. Thanks for the work you put it.
I use a tlr-1 for duty and the only issue I’ve had is broken battery doors when being moved from gun to gun or battery changes. Any that have broken have been years old and a new battery door is like $15.
All these lights did so well that it comes down to the features and buttons you like and comparing the price. For me the tlr-1 is the winner because I like the controls, it’s not super expensive and it’s obviously one of the more durable ones with good holster support.
THIS was an INCREDIBLE and SOLID review! Dang, son, I’m telling you — we got to give it to these guys for the MORE THAN thorough review and torture test! Brothers, thanks for taking the time to do this and share with us! 💪🇺🇸
Good testing! But it’s gonna be Streamlight all the way.
Please do some more tests on olights (y'know, not ones having to do with water that it's not rated for). It's about time they get some actual representation for being a pretty darn good light for a steal of a price.
This guy went from some of the most scientific tests on youtube to full unga bunga
Just run TLR1/2 for years; don,t see any reason to change… thx for the video!
So what's peoples opinion of the TLR 9 & 10. Looking to purchase one or those or a inforce wild 2. The only experience I have with inforce is an old model pistol light that cracked it's bezel after about 3 months of light use
Can you please do rifle lights?
Probably the best most thorough test I’ve ever seen on YouTube. I own both the TLR-1 and SF-300-U and love them both. But streamlight just sh*t on everyone. 💪🏻
I'm currently running a Inforce Wilder 2 on my Glock 19,23 and 30S for about 1 year now.
Guys I know you focus on gun lights due to being a holster company, but I would pay for a tactical light review similar to this. Comparing some top thrower lights as well as tactical flood lights.
I'll still go with the TLR-1. Great company, great warranty, great reputation, better holster availability, the list goes on.
Wow! With the price of them and the fact that they are always recommended, it's crazy to see the Modlite failing so much. Maybe they aren't as tough as we think they are. I'm really surprised at the Streamlights. I have the RM2 on my rifle and the TLR-1 HL on my pistol and both have been great.
Especially not every weapon lights are 100% durable.
Dude Holy shit your actually the best light reveiwer I've ran into good job man keep it up
I've had my TLR-1S for 13 years. I've beat the shit out of it, had it through 3 different duty weapons and never had any issues with it. For the money, you can't beat it.
Is there any option to make the optics side of the holster a bit less tall?
