While deciding on a gun for my first hunting trip. My buddy fresh out of the Marines says take the shot gun, you'll hit something & you won't take out any by passers. It's hard to believe that any gun lover doesn't know this. There's nothing complicated about it.
So many liberals ignorant of all things firearms don’t even know AR 15’s are .22 caliber!! You never even hear them mention the newer mag fed shotguns that have 20 or more shot shell capacity!! A 12 gauge shotgun using defensive slugs and a magazine capacity of 20 rounds is much more dangerous then an AR-15. These democratic politicians are so ignorant and have no real knowledge of firearms they all just parrot the same idiotic rhetoric they hear from their Constitutional hating constituents!!
Actually Eugene Stoner created the AR-10. He preferred .30 caliber weapons. We would have had .308 caliber AR 10’s in Vietnam if it weren’t for the big wigs in government making it impossible for Eugene Stoner’s superior weapon of war to win the contract!! We had these AR-15’s that jammed, heated up and did not function!! It was only by accident that a mistake in barrel rifling ratio the M16’s .223 rounds tumbled so they became more dangerous to the enemy. With correct rifling they were more accurate but less deadly!! Many times going right through the enemy and allowing them to continue fighting!! Whereas the enemy had 7.62x 39 rounds which were .30 caliber and would bounce and break our soldiers bones!! We had .22 caliber weapons and they had .30 caliber weapons why was that? Government stupidity!!

Someone needs to point out that ARs are a lot easier for folks to defend themselves if they have little or no practice with a pistol. My son went to the range with me and couldn't hit squat with my .45. Meanwhile my shot group was about 3 inches at 25 feet the same day!! But i have soo much more experience with a pistol. It's ok!! My .45 hollow points will turn the first burgler's to my place guts inside out!

Shoot an AR and a 10/22 with a 25 round mag and a breakdown barrel, bet you're favorite is the ruger. Then try against a henry A7 survival .22. (You'll have to screw the trigger and barrel together, they're kept in the plastic, floating stock.) Every range outing, I've got a line of shooters wanting to try it. They all get a huge smile.

ridiculous argument as usual. an AR15 with a 100 round drum is far more lethal than a street sweeper shotgun with 15 rounds. the problem is not the weapon its the high capacity detachable magazines which make them perfect for mass shootings. i own various fire arms including assault rifles and I don't need more than five shots to defend my home with any type of fire arm. if people are not prepared to do the work necessary to be highly effective shooters they shouldn't own a gun. if you think an assault weapon will protect you from the government you clearly don't understand how tanks, drones and helicopters work.
And yet now we can’t go out shooting with our family anymore because it’s so damn impossible to find ammo. Too damn afraid to let any I have now go to waste.
