Showing the differences between an authentic Streamlight Rail Mount HLX and the counterfeit version. Fraudulently selling these as an actual Streamlight product really gets under my skin as I view a WML(weapon mounted light)the same way I view any firearm, a potential life saving device that always has to work. Scaming people with a knock off is not cool. Good on Streamlight for making it right even though it wasn’t their fault. A WML is not an area I recommend skimping on, it is the single most important item that you will add to your firearm

I was not aware of this until I got an email from amazon saying I got a $100 refund for a counterfeit product they sold me. This was a few weeks ago. Did amazon ever refund you as well?
thanks for the video. I got the email from amazon saying mine might be a fake but I went and checked it and almost everything looked good. I didn't know about the serial number on the bottom of the pressure pad or the serial number on the light being a dead giveaway. Thanks to your video, I now know for sure that my light is fake. Really pisses me off since I planned on that light being on my end of the world rifle lol.

Also. If you want authentic make sure it says sold by amazon or shipped by amazon or both. Some say sold and shipped by "COMPANY X " (example)
The o-rings were different.. ones black and the authentic was red

EXCELLENT video bringing these counterfeits to light. My uncle bought a counterfeit Trijicon MRO for the normal price and we also found an airsoft MRO type for about $50-$70. Someone is buying the real deal MRO and returning the item with airsoft MROs. Amazon return people are not gun people. They see something that appears to look like the image on the real box and repackage it or something. For small and easily counterfeited items that may be used for duty or home defense…I try to buy from the manufacturer or an authorized dealer. Thanks again.

I can see where it's worth doing the crime. I own one of the knockoffs but I paid about 28 bucks for it on a Black Friday deal from Amazon. It looks the same but no name brand. It's a great light for the price but I'm sure it wouldn't be as reliable or last as long as the real deal. So if you put the marking on my cheapo one you could get three to four times the money. Ouch.
