  1. I 3 gun with the same Primary Arms. At 1x the eye relief is very forgiving but at 6x, your eye must be precisely at the correct distance (2ish inches) and perfectly centered or the scope shadow is rough. As a positive, the same eye placement is critical for the zero to be true, so it is very easy to tell when your shot will be off. Absolutely worth the money ($280 on Amazon).

  2. If I may add another great budget option that seems to get overlooked a lot, is the Truglo Tru-brite 30 scope. It's a 1×6 variable power, illuminated moa dot reticle, included throw lever and a nice included cantilever mount. While primary arms is my personal favorite of the upper tier budget options. This Truglo is hands down the best I've come across in that budget mid tier 150-180 dollar range with all the extra accessories included, adding an awesome value package. I have one of these on an AK that I hog hunt with and I have another one on a .308 rifle that I often shoot out to 800 yards with. It's my personal favorite on the budget options as far as an everything included affordable quality option.

  3. I own that 1-4 Bushnell AR Optics scope. The reticle washes out in daylight, even in the heaviest conditions of overcast. The turrets are so extremely sensitive to turning that I no longer leave the scope on my AR inside the case, as it was enough to bump them and change my zero. The glass is clear but fogs very easy, which sucks because here in VA, it can get super humid.

  4. In that top price range there are some really good vortex scopes at midwayusa that have better power and larger input sides. Not always as good on eye releif tho. And if not adjusting on the fly those side focus units deal with the parelex pretty nice but again eye releif is not near as long as the last one you talked about.

  5. I put a Sig Tango 4 on my .308.

FFP, 0 to 4 power, illuminated.

At zero magnification I can barely see the reticle and the illumination is pretty weak in bright light.

I don’t remember what I paid for it because back then I had more money than brains but I suspect I gave too much.

    Sigh

  6. Thank you for doing stuff like this. Some of us have young families and don't have the capital to throw around to get some of the "standard" level items. Please do more videos like this with budget accessories.

  7. Great job Mark, agree on all 3 optics
From the Primary Arms (Excellent choice) id encourage others to be conscious of the caliber specific nature of the PA options! I've bought nearly all caliber specific tactical PA ACSS optics and now just keep them on the go to ARs then when i want to shoot my alt ARs i pull the ACSS for that caliber (and its ALWAYS close) but i don't adjust it for that alt rifle so i can just slap it back on the "go to" when i get home… as i can ill buy a scope for each one so I've got back ups if ever needed.

  8. Not sure if this quite fits the budget section but I really like the fixed $300 SWFA scopes. I got a 12X for my AR in .223 Wylde w/ 20" barrel and it does the job fantastic for long range shooting.
