An AR chambered in 7.62×39? It might seem unusual but if you have thousands of rounds of 7.62 laying around and wanted to build an AR, this might be the route you’d take.

  1. Forgive my ignorance ahead of time as I never served.

It seems to me that an AR-15 chambered in 7.62 x .39 would be a more appropriate weapon for the current conflict. The AK-47 and -74 are the most common weapons being used by the various terror organizations. It stands to reason that captured ammunition would be extremely useful under battlefield conditions.

Any veterans care to comment on that line of reasoning? I'm curious to know why a 7.62 standard wouldn't make supplies in the field more abundant.

  2. thanks for the video you answered my one question right off the bat …..i have 2 extra AR15 lowers that i built from 80% and i want one chambered in 7.62×39 so now i can just buy the upper from midway and the AR stoner mag and go to town whoot

  3. So in short, the only physical differences for 7.62×39 is the magazine, and the bolt? Everything else is the same? What about firing pin, is it better to change that for the harder primers? And would a hydraulic buffer help reduce the chances of damaging the carrier group? Would it reduce wear and tear overall?

  4. pretty sure the upper reciever isnt any different from a regular upper, contrary to what he said the upper was different , matter of fact the only thing different is the bolt head itself and barrel and mags

  5. One question, what magazines are you using? Because I noticed you didn't have any problems with your rifle and a lot of people who own these rifles told me they have huge problems with them jamming.

  6. No, sig 556r is perfect rifle. Uses same cheap ak mags, proper piston system. This thing  is nonsense. WTF would it use different mags than AK? AK mags are all over the place and dirt cheap, mags for this nonsense are expensive and hard to come by in regular shops

  7. Im almost done with mine n i heard from a very reliable source that unless i want to pay for brass i should purchase a piston kit. I figure for the cost difference steele vs brass the piston kit would pretty much pay for itself. Ill be done first part of april so either expect bitching or badassness. Lol.

  8. @Stance Punk the only thing an AK has over an AR platform is the caliber. If you take that away from it then it would be a junk rifle. And the problem with shooting 7.62X39 in an AR platform is that it beats the hell out of the rifle and won't last for shit.
