to the best of my knowledge, eotech is American, eotech is still used by professionals. that right there sold me.
What a great advice about shooting with closed cap. Never thought of it. I have same Aimpoint on my 300blk sbr. I was wondering why they did not use clear lens caps? Thanks

Did you ever experience thermal drift with your Eotech while in Iraq?
The Eotech is my choice, the only down side of the Eotech is the battery life.
I love the reticle of the eotech but I keep hearing that its garbage and they are being sued now. So might have to go with aim pro. Thoughts? I mean its going to be a self defense rifle I keep mostly at home and the occasional gun range. It's an ar15 by the way.

As a contractor I Inspected Eotech(SU-231) and Aimpoint(M68) sights and must have Inspected thousands of both. I can only remember a handful of Eotechs that were unserviceable. They are tanks! The Aimpoints, with their knobs and battery caps were a little more susceptible to being unusable. I have a 512 and love it.

Aimpoint pro, is excellent, dot is clear, easy to point and shoot with both eye open, just the right size, not to big, love the torque limiting mounting knob, you get so much more for the money. 🙂
this is like comparing a glock and a 1911 but you mentioned the durability of the aimpoint I actually watched a video of one getting blown up and it still worked im super happy with mine i had a eotech on my ar15 and when i opened my door in my truck my dog knocked my ar out it landed right on the top of my eotech does not work anymore just wanted to share that but great vidio
