  1. The new Microstream is brighter, has 2 modes, and runs longer than Olight. Should really check it out. I love Olights, but I feel my new Microstream is excellent and rechargeable.

  2. Love the microstream for work. All i want is one mode for simplicity and something low light that wont blind me on reflective surfaces. quickly inspecting parts in a machine shop, checking coolant. etc. dont want to be clicking tail caps multiple times just to get a lil light for one second.

  3. It makes no sense to spend the same amount of money for a 20 minute flashlight, when you already have a perfectly good 2+hour flashlight that gives you MUCH more time in the real world to accomplish your goal in an almost identical sized package & format.
The streamlight battery life will last when you really need it in an emergency, & not have to waste time fiddling with batteries. With the olight, you have to change the battery in just 20 minutes! Why even waste time with that? I don't get the logic.
Hope you only plan to use it to get to, & from your car a few times. Then hope you don't have an emergency on the highway where you are now out of juice. I don't have time to change a battery every 20 minutes. In an emergency, I need it right now, & I need it to last…& that olight doesn't justify it's existence when the Microstream you already have has a TON more battery life. Real world battery life when you need it. Unless it happens to be an enjoyable pass time for you to change batteries constantly.
I wonder if you'll change your mind after you swap the carry for a little while, then want to go back to ample battery life. Certain "upgrades" don't mean much in the real world. Neither will those scratches on your streamlight.
With a flashlight, battery life is everything. Not one of those extra features you pointed out mean anything without that. They were so relatively nit picky that you forgot to factor in the much more important battery life! Downgrading to 20 minutes…from over 2 hours? Why?

  4. I love the Streamlight. With the Olight I'm concerned with it turning on by itself when sitting down since it rides higher in the pocket. I have that issue with the Coast G19 which has a similar clip height. Just ordered one so I'll find out. Nice review.

  5. Well I think it is a problem that it doesnt have a medium mode because for example we're our tire get punctured on the high way , 5 lumes is so low and then 180 lumens for 21 minutes , it just doesn't make Any sense , they should have put a 60-40 lumens mode as well . but the over all design is really nice better than the microsteam . Btw great review !!👌👌-kgrp89
