  1. eric johnson The rifle looks great. I’m about to build my first SBR. I currently own a cheap 8.5” 300 BLK AR pistol that I paid about $500 for. So I’m wanting to build a higher end AR pistol and SBR it. I might go 223 10.5 barrel only because it seems like 300 Blackout ammo prices are no longer dropping. Question…why did you use a pistol length gas system versus carbine length? I’m new to short barreled rifles, however I thought with a 10.5” barrel you should use carbine length gas system. Does it differ for 300BLK? Is the caliber a factor as far as what length gas system to use?

  2. You know what? I actually use green Loctite on my barrel extension before inserting it into the receiver extension. Why? Green Loctite is "very" high heat, chemical, and corrosion resistant. It is also a much better bedding material that blue or red Loctite, which are STRICTLY for threads. Green Loctite is used on bearings and sleeves on industrial and automotive applications, which receive much more heat and stress than your AR will ever see in its lifetime. I have assembled countless ARs using green Loctite instead of 33MS grease. Barrel deflection is greatly reduced and results in less than 1/2 MOA, even with such a bargain barrel as a 14.5" Radical Firearms 223 Wylde barrel, up to a 20" Faxon Heavy Fluted barrel, and even a 18" SPR Criterion barrel. The chamber is the coolest part of the barrel so it will never burn the Loctite off. Also, green Loctite will require near 1000°F to remove. Simply use a heat gun, a rubber mallet, gloves, and several twists, it will come off, same way as removing the Midwest Industries Handguard in this video. I'll bet the internet will say I'm a dumbass for using green Loctite. Well, you can also call Criterion Barrels dumbasses too because I recently found out they do the same thing when building their precision ARs.

  3. I'm looking into making a 11.5" build and have been looking at the same MI rail in 10.5" but I'm concerned that there won't be enough room to put a suppressor on without hitting the handguard. How much space do you have between the front of the rail and the rear of the threading (and therefore the rear of the suppressor)?

  4. Right on, I'll be sure to check them out I'm definitely interested in taking some courses from them.

About the 870 yeah I'm not big into shotguns in general but especially not PG only. Carbines and pistols for me.

  5. Ran across your channel..lol small world. We took a carbine course with Donovan last year together. Shot your G43 and a shorty 870 on lunch.

I had a 14.5 BCM mid with FDE furniture that day BTW.

  6. U F-15 fanboy. U ever wonder why a F-15 needs to be worked on for something that is barely sortied?
Last time I checked there were 222 service F-15's in the U.S. compared over 2,000 F-16 lawn darts as u call them.
Hard to break something that stays parked every day. I live next to Luke AFB and Eagles r used to hold down the tarmac so Vipers can do the real work.
