  1. To me this is why I prefer mils. I don’t own a creedmoor but it much easier for me to remember that at 1000 yards my rifle drops 5 mils, than to remember it drops 17.75 or whatever MOA. Smaller numbers are easier to remember and the turrets having more space between them makes it less cluttered imo

  2. MDT is at it again. I use 6.5 creedmore for deer hunting. And, stay tuned at the range. I have d.o.p.e on each of my riffles, none of which came from any math or hack. You can use that hack for elevation, use a ballistics app., or use data on previous engagements. You cannot use a hack to determine your dope. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Looking at ballistic ae…it’s pretty close. Really at 500 it’s more like 2.5 mils instead of 3, and at 1000 it’s more like 7 instead of 8. So just figuring out what range to subtract 2 instead of 3 is the secret. Still, for a big enough torso target, very cool.

  4. Looking at the Applied Ballistics app – this hack really only roughly works for yardages between 200 and 700. You need to at least get a ballistics app and a Kestrel for wind, density altitude for longer distances. Latitude and azimuth would help as well in range settings to account for Coriolis. As a beginner, I was able to hit a 1200 yard target on my first use of my new Tikka T3x CTR 6.5 CM – 9 o'clock wind ~8 MPH. I need to get more experience to push it out further as I have access to a 1 mile range. I think I need to buy a better scope after only 1 outing. And I thought golf and skiing were expensive!

  5. yards, ahh yes a 900 year old measuring system that americans still use for some unknown reason.

and before you start saying freedom units, the US military uses metric… so really, you are falling behind your patriotism by using an antiquated system.
